Water restrictions updated Ridgewood Water Company Director Frank Moritz has announced that the Stage III water restrictions for Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Midland Park, and Wyckoff, have ended. Outdoor water use is no longer restricted. Walk-a-Thon to benefit shelter The West Milford Animal Shelter will hold its annual Walk-A-Dog-athon on Sunday, Oct. 17 at Wawayanda State Park on Warwick Turnpike in Hewitt. (Rain date: Oct. 24.) Attendees can enter as a family, singles, or groups; every dog will receive a free goodie bag. All participants will be eligible to win one of four great prizes by sponsoring themselves, obtaining sponsors, or collecting donations. Prizes include a $400 cash grand prize, a $300 ShopRite gift certificate donated by Inserra Supermarket, a $230 iPOD Touch donated by Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital, and a
$100 Target gift card donated by Evergreen Farm. Contests will held for Best Dressed (dog and owner), Smallest and Largest by size, Best Trick, Best Behaved (basic commands), and Pucker-up (best kisser). Contests will start at 1 p.m. Registration is free. All proceeds benefit the animals. Grand opening slated TD Bank will host a grand opening at its newest location in Wyckoff on Oct. 9. All are invited to the 292 Wyckoff Avenue branch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for free refreshments and giveaways, a balloon artist, souvenir photos, games and prizes, a ribbon cutting, and the presentation of grant from TD Bank to the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat at noon. Speed networking event planned The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce will host
a multi-Chamber speed networking event on Oct. 6 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Garden State Plaza Food Court (Parking Lot Enter Door #3), One Garden State Plaza in Paramus. More than 175 people from the Hackensack, Fair Lawn, Paramus, Ridgewood, and other local Chambers are expected to attend. Colleagues and friends are welcome. Registration and light refreshments will be offered from 7:30 to 8 a.m., followed by speed networking in threeminute intervals from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The cost is $15 for Chamber members and $20 for nonmembers. Vendors sought for Shopping Spree The Wyckoff Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is seeking vendors for its second annual Shopping Spree Night on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Protection Fire Company #1 at Scott Plaza in Wyckoff. Music in the Park XIII set The thirteenth marching band competition, “Music in the Park XIII” will be held on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 1:10 p.m. on the Midland Park High School athletic field on Prospect Street in Midland Park. Weekly mail delivery to all homes and businesses will continue uninterrupted and free of charge regardless of whether or not readers return the completed form, but a prompt return will be greatly appreciated. “Many local clubs, houses of worship, and organizations have already called in to offer their help with our campaign to get back the completed forms, but help from many more is crucial,” Vierheilig said.
