Lebeaux to perform at Cabaret Night New York Cabaret singer Annie Lebeaux will entertain with “rare and ridiculous” vaudeville songs at the Woman’s Club of Ho-Ho-Kus’ Cabaret Night on Saturday, Nov. 13. The 6 p.m. event will be held at Saint Bartholomew’s Church Hall on Sheridan Avenue. Tickets are $20 and proceeds will be donated to local charities. The GFWC Woman’s Club of Ho-Ho-Kus is a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs of GFWC, which was founded in 1894 and has been headquartered on the Douglass Residential Campus, formerly Douglass College, in New Brunswick since 1966. The federation is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, the oldest and largest nonpartisan, nondenominational women’s volunteer service organization in the world. Opportunities are provided to women in education, leadership training and community service through participation in local clubs. Fall Story Time begins Fall Story Time is now underway at the Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library, 91 Warren Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus. Story times are held on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. and on Wednesdays with Alphabelts at 10:30 a.m. and story time at 11 a.m. All are welcome. Registration is not required. Historian to discuss Teddy Roosevelt Historian Charles McSorley will present his lecture “Teddy Roosevelt: His Life and Times” to the Ho-Ho-Kus Seniors on Oct. 12. The group will meet at 1 p.m. in the education center of the Hermitage on Franklin Turnpike. McSorley’s presentation includes music and slides that cover the turbulent and exciting times of the 26th president. This program is sponsored by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities and is free and open to the public. The seniors group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. Sidewalk Sale scheduled The Ho-Ho-Kus Chamber of Commerce will host its Sidewalk Sale Days Oct. 15 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some participating merchants will donate 10 percent of their proceeds from the sale to Go4theGoal, the local nonprofit organization that supports Richards Run. The Chamber is also raising funds for holiday lights that will be used to decorate the business district later this year. The group’s next meeting will be held Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. at the ambulance corps building adjacent to borough hall. Flu and pneumonia vaccines available The Valley Hospital Department of Community Health and the Ridgewood and Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Health will offer flu and pneumonia vaccines on Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the senior lounge in Village Hall, 131 North Maple Avenue. Registration is required; call (201) 291-6090. Flu and pneumonia vaccines are covered by traditional Medicare Part B. Recipients must present their card at the time of service. Anyone with an HMO may choose to go to his or her primary care provider or pay $27 for a flu vaccination. Pneumonia vaccines will be available for those who have never had a previous pneumonia vaccination. The cost is $35. Flu shots are encouraged for those who are age 65 and over, those with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, and children -- especially those between six months and five years of age. Vendors sought The Ho-Ho-Kus Community Church is seeking vendors for its Holiday Bazaar scheduled for Nov. 13. Space reserved by Oct. 15 will cost $50 for an upstairs booth, and $40 downstairs. After Oct. 15, booths will be available at $75 and $60 each. The annual event will feature favorites for the holidays, including handmade crafts, baked goods, preserves and jellies, a book stall, a café, and musical entertainment.
