She is survived by her children Jane Guidotti, Lydia DeHope, Helen DeHope, Nancy McGarry, Mary Grigoriew, and Ruth Hollingsworth, 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was an electrical engineering student at Villanova University in Haverford, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Saint Elizabeth’s Elementary School in Wyckoff and a 2007 graduate of Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at Villanova University. He is survived by his parents Bernard and Sigrun (nee Beck) Giletta of Wyckoff, brothers Bernie of Wyckoff and Paul of Hawthorne, and twin nieces Claire and Katherine. Elsie Marie Golden of Wyckoff, formerly of North Haledon and Oakland, died Sept. 24. She was 72. She had worked as a claims processor at Churchill Administrators of Englewood Cliffs for over 40 years. She was a member of Midland Park Christian Reformed Church, where she served in many capacities, most recently as a deaconess. She is survived by her husband John, her children Gregory, and Laura Gorter, both of North Haledon, and Lisa Kuperus of Wantage, 11 grandchildren, and her sister Joan Mabie of Wyckoff. Daniel Peter Hemkes of New Baltimore, Virginia, formerly of Ridgewood and Wyckoff, died Sept. 20. He was 81. He was a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers veteran of Korean War. Before retiring in 1989, he was the bus driver coordinator and locksmith for the Ridgewood Public Schools. He is survived by his wife Bernice Bainton Hemkes, his daughter Linda Hopkins, three grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, and his siblings Emma Copeland, Isabel Sweetman, and David Hemkes. He was predeceased by his brothers Sam, Timothy, William, Peter, and sister Trina. He was a graduate of Calvin College. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was vice president and technical director at Pettit Paint in Rockaway. He was a member of the Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, where he served as a deacon, elder, Bible Study leader, and building and grounds chairman. He was also a member the choir and of the church administration. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Meyers (nee Van Hook) of Mahwah, his children Sally Stegink of Michigan, Virginia Vander Plaat of Hawthorne, David Meyers of Georgia, and Pamela Weber of Wantage, 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his sister Eunice Broersma of Franklin Lakes. Margaret Mary Streaser of Mahwah, formerly of Oakland and Shawnee, Pennsylvania, died Sept. 30. She was 83. Prior to raising her family, she was a secretary for General Eisenhower at Columbia University, New York. She later worked as a sales consultant at Bennett Brothers in Mahwah. She was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth’s R.C. Church in Wyckoff. Meyers Soil moving (continued from page 7) movement of less than 150 cubic yards of soil or the disturbance of greater than 2,000 square feet of a lot within any 12 consecutive months. An intermediate soil moving permit would be required for the movement of more than 250 cubic yards of soil on any lot within any 12 consecutive months, or the cumulative movement of more than 500 cubic yards within three consecutive years. A major soil moving permit would be required for the movement of soil on any lot within any 12 consecutive months that has been classified as a major soil moving application by the Soil Moving Committee and has been approved by the planning board, as required. The Soil Moving Committee would include among its members the construction official, a planning board designee, and the borough engineer. Once the application has been approved, anyone with a grievance would be able to approach the planning board or the mayor and council to present an appeal. No individual or excavator would be permitted to move any soil or alter the grade of any property without obtaining a soil moving permit. “Any property that is in a flood plain, flood way, contains wetlands, or is subject to periodic flooding or interfered with the borough’s storm water system, shall not be exempt from the permit hearing requirement,” The ordinance states. “No construction permit nor certificate of occupancy shall be issued…until a soil moving permit has been issued.” The ordinance also states that no one will be permitted to import soil to a site within the borough in quantities of 50 cubic yards or more without securing a permit. The ordinance also includes a list of fees, requirements for performance bonds, and requirements for road restoration bonds, where required. A public hearing on this ordinance, which was recommended by Borough Engineer David Hals and reviewed by the Ho-Ho-Kus Planning Board and Construction Code Official Larry Scorzelli, will be held during the public council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 26.
