He is survived by his children Ian and Katrina, his mother Margaret of Hackensack, and his siblings Jeanine Shaw of Pennsylvania, Suzanne Malloy of Hackensack, and Charles of Allendale. He taught at Weill Cornell Medical School. He was among the first group of winners of the Jonas Salk Foundation Award, and he was twice awarded the Elliot Hochstein Award for the best teacher of medicine in the tri-state area. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Bell Gardy, MD, his children Alison Gardy and Joanna Gardy, two grandchildren, and his brother Hugh Gardy, DOS. She was 59. She was the director of nursing at Eastwick College in Ramsey. She was a member of the Allendale Board of Education, and served on many community programs and committees. She is survived by her children Laura Huisking of Hawthorne, William Huisking of Allendale, and Sara Huisking of Allendale, her parents James and Gladys of Dauphin, Pennsylvania, her sister Phyllis of Long Island, and her brothers James of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Frank David M. Before his retirement, he was employed by the Midland Park Public Schools for 25 years. He is survived by his wife Robin Matthews (nee Lightenberg), and his sons Stewart Matthews of Vernon and Nicholas Matthews of Saint Cloud, Florida. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at the Advent Lutheran Church 777 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff. She was a parishioner of Saint Gabriel’s Church in Saddle River where she served on the parish council and volunteered in many church activities. She served as president of the Junior Woman’s Club (now the Contemporary Club), and on Project Pride, a town-wide beautification effort. She is survived by her husband Kevin, her children Kitt Cela of East Hampstead, New Hampshire and Christopher of Ho-Ho-Kus, and her two grandchildren. He owned and operated Rappaport Real Estate, later he became co-owner of Driscoll Foods in Clifton. He was a member of the board of directors of Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York, for many years. A building at Blythedale is being named in his memory. He was the cofounder of the Max & Lillian Rappaport Foundation for the Treatment and Study of Social Trauma, Inc. He acquired and developed a therapeutic farm for children and adults in Millbrook, New York. He is survived by his wife Dr. Sondra Rappaport (nee Blank), and his children Amy Rappaport of Belchertown, Massachusetts and Michael Rappaport of Fort Myers, Florida. Sinton Jr. of Mahwah and Peru, Vermont, formerly of Upper Saddle River, died Nov. 11. He was 78. He began his career with Arthur Young in New York in 1955 and retired in 1992 as a partner from its successor company, Ernst & Young, LLP. He then joined Bankers Trust as a managing director and board member of related funds management businesses until his retirement in 2005. He attended Fordham Prep, Columbia University, and the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He was a member of the Hackensack Golf Club and The New York Athletic Club. He is survived by his wife Susan (nee Creter), his children Jill Polansky of Oakland and Sally Sinton of Melbourne, Australia, four grandchildren, his brother Donald Sinton, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
