Waldwick Public Library provides a full range of U.S. passport services, including application processing, expediting, and passport photos during the following designated hours of operation: Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Passport applicants are required to present the following: a completed passport application, proof of U.S. citizenship, proof of identity, regulation passport photos, and payment of fees by check. Applicants are advised to bring a birth certificate with Library offers passport services evenings and Saturdays a raised seal, and a photo ID such as a photo driver’s license. Those who do not have regulation passport photos can have appropriate images taken at the library for an $8 fee. The fee to the library for the passport service is $25, and the fee to the Department of State is $110. The library is located at 19 East Prospect Street in Waldwick. Toys for Tots collection set In the Swing in Waldwick is hosting a Toys for Tots collection at its 145 Hopper Avenue location. For each donated toy, the donor will receive four free admission tickets for one child during the month of January. New, unused, and unwrapped toys may be dropped off at the main office by Dec. 17. Lions sell trees, host children’s party The Waldwick Lions Club will hold the Annual Christmas Tree Sale on Dec. 3, 4 and 5 in the Rite Aid parking lot located on Franklin Turnpike, Waldwick. Balsam firs that are seven- and eight-feet tall will be sold at $39 while supplies last. Wreaths, sold by Troop 308, and white pine roping will also be available. Scouts set holiday ceremony, Food Drive The Waldwick Girl Scouts will host the Annual Holiday Tree & Menorah Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. on the lawn of the Waldwick Public Library. All families are welcome to join in the festivities for holiday singing. Santa will be on hand to help turn on the lights. Following the ceremony, refreshments will be provided by the Waldwick Fire Department at the Co. #1 firehouse. The Girl Scouts are also conducting a Holiday Food Drive and ask that donations of non-perishable food be placed in boxes that will be located at the firehouse during the holiday event. UFO lecturer to speak at Library Former U.S. Army Intelligence Agent Robert J. VanDerClock will present “UFO Update 2010” on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 6:45 p.m. at the Waldwick Public Library. The program will cover the highlights of the lecturer’s 17 years of research into the subject of unidentified flying objects, extraterrestrial beings, and government secrecy. VanDerClock has delivered more than 95 lectures on the subject of UFOs since June of 1995, including a 1999 appearance at the UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, New Mexico.
