Page 8 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • May 26, 2010 Area PSE&G now at work on Franklin Turnpike Public Service Electric & Gas, New Jersey’s largest utility, is upgrading and replacing gas facilities in Waldwick and Ho-Ho-Kus to ensure safe, reliable utility service for area residents and business owners. The work is being completed as part of the company’s two-year accelerated schedule of infrastructure improvements being undertaken to stimulate New Jersey’s economy. PSE&G is installing a six-inch plastic gas main and replacing associated gas service lines. The job will be completed in two segments. As of last week, construction was underway on North Franklin Turnpike in Waldwick. The project will continue along Franklin Turnpike from Wyckoff Avenue in Waldwick to Hollywood Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus. The crew will then move to Hollywood Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus from Sheridan Avenue to North Franklin Turnpike. About 2,000 feet of new gas main and services will be installed. Construction began on May 17 and will continue until approximately June 30. Scheduled work hours are 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Road closings will be necessary at times during the project, but interruptions will be kept to a minimum. Local police will be on site to direct traffic flow. PSE&G regrets any inconvenience the project may cause. For everyone’s safety, PSE&G crews use work area protection. Traffic cones and utility work signs will allow the job to be done safely. The utility reminds motorists to slow down when driving through the area. Those who can take alternate routes to bypass the construction area are urged to do so.
