Walsh, Donadio to lead trustees; Inglima steps down
by Jennifer Crusco During last week’s reorganization session, the members of the Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Education selected Ellen Walsh as their new president. Walsh succeeds Michaela Donelan Donadio, who will serve as vice president. The board also accepted the immediate resignation of trustee Robert Inglima Jr., who cited time constraints as a major factor in his decision to step down. Walsh was elected to the board in 2008. She and her husband, John Higgins, have lived in Ho-Ho-Kus since 1996. They have three children, all of who attend the HoHo-Kus Public School. Walsh received a law degree from Rutgers-Camden School of Law in 1990. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology from Swarthmore College. She worked for 13 years as an attorney in a firm specializing in school law before becoming a stay-at-home mother. She has been a Cub Scout leader, a soccer coach, an art docent at the public school, CCD teacher at Saint Gabriel’s Church, and the board’s liaison to the Ho-Ho-Kus Education Foundation. “These are challenging times with the budget cuts we had to make, and we still have not resolved the teachers’ negotiations, so I am hopeful the board members and I can successfully reach the goal of maintaining an excellent program and resolving those negotiations,” Walsh told Villadom TIMES. Donadio is now serving her fourth three-year term on the board. She received a degree in economics/accounting from the College of the Holy Cross, and worked in financial services prior to staying home to raise her four children. She currently works for a telephone services company in Pompton Plains. She and her husband Matt have been Ho-Ho-Kus residents for over 20 years. She has been active in various borough organizations, including the Contemporary Club, the Parent Teacher Organization, the HHK/SR Soccer organization, and as registrar and vice president of the HHK/SR Football and Cheerleading Association. Donadio, the immediate past president of the board, has served as chair of the Community Relations Committee, chair of the Finance Committee, and a member of the Negotiations Committee.
