Page 6 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • May 12, 2010 Area Graduating seniors who reside in Upper Saddle River, Saddle River, Allendale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Mahwah, or Waldwick are invited to apply for a $1,500 scholarship, which will be awarded to a student in good academic standing who has made a difference in his or her community and gone the extra mile to help others. “The Dick Meighan Memorial Run Committee is proud to offer the seventh annual Dick Meighan Extra Mile Scholarship,” said Elizabeth O’Sullivan, who runs the scholarship program with fellow Upper Saddle River resident Sean Bookstaver. “As in past years, if funds permit, we will most likely make additional grants to Local students may apply for Extra Mile Scholarship two other deserving applicants. Proceeds were donated to the New Jerseybased, The Valerie Fund. The fund provides medical treatments, counseling, and development activities for children with cancer and serious blood disorders. Attendees enjoyed champagne and hors d’oeuvres, while runway models sported the latest spring lines of clothing, shoes, and accessories. Grand prizes included a Gucci handbag and sunglasses.
