Commenting on the new superintendents, Cirulli said, “ T hey a r e b ot h exc el le nt worke r s who a r e ve r y dependable.” He said many variables had been taken into consideration in making this decision, and he wanted to provide a solution to the superintendent of public works post’s vacancy that would allow both men to benefit, while still keeping things simple. Montag was previously assistant superintendent, and Pattman was the foreman. Cirulli said both men would be working with the same, current DPW staff members, and is confident that the two men will effectively work together to prioritize their various projects while sharing staff members. After Frank’s exit from his post last summer, John Mariani, a member of the Mahwah DPW, was named superintendent in Ho-Ho-Kus on a temporary, month-tomonth basis. He has been paid $1,000 per month for his part-time responsibilities. Mariani is certified to oversee DPW activities and to sign the necessary reports. He has been fulfilling those duties in Ho-Ho-Kus on his own time. Cirulli said Mariani would remain on staff until the end of May.
