On March 31, Officer Troy Seifert arrested a 15-year-old male for unlawful possession of a weapon. The arrest resulted when the Waldwick Middle School advised officers that they located a three-inch blade knife on the individual inside the school. Officer Seifert signed a juvenile delinquency complaint against the individual. On April 6, Officer John Greco reported that he observed an individual walking on Franklin Turnpike and knew that the man had been deported back to his country. Sgt. Woessner responded and placed the individual in custody. The United States Department of Immigration and Naturalization was contacted and confirmed that the individual was in the country illegally. A detainer warrant was issued and the individual was remanded to the Bergen County Jail for deportation. Officer John Greco arrested a 32-yearold Waldwick man for driving while intoxicated on April 9. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle crash on Wyckoff Avenue. Following field sobriety tests, the man was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. Officer Greco issued summonses for DWI, refusal to submit to the Alcotest, and reckless driving. On April 10, Officer Dowling arrested a 37-year-old Waldwick woman for DWI. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Wyckoff Avenue. The stop was initiated after Officer Dowling observed the driver continue straight from a right turn only lane with a rear tail light that was not working. Following field sobriety tests, the woman was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. Officer Dowling issued summonses for DWI and failure to maintain lamps. Officer Adam Garcia arrested a 34year-old Waldwick man for possession of cocaine on April 12. The arrest resulted when a Harrison Avenue resident reported a group of individuals outside her home. Officer Garcia located an individual hiding behind a vehicle in the resident’s driveway. After speaking with the individual, a plastic baggie containing cocaine was discovered. On April 13, the Waldwick Police Department received a report of a loud party on Cleveland Avenue. Officers responded and

located an underage drinking party. Officer Seifert charged 10 adults with borough ordinance complaints for disturbance of the peace. One juvenile was charged with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and making alcohol available to minors. Officer Seifert also charged six juveniles with disturbance of the peace. On April 18, a caller reported a group of individuals were engaged in gambling activity at the Traphagen School. Officer Goodell observed a 42-year-old Waldwick man throwing dice and exchanging cash with a group of individuals. Officer Goodell arrested the man for promoting gambling. Officer Chris Goodell arrested a 43year-old Waldwick man for DWI on April 25. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on East Prospect Street. The vehicle was being driven without headlights on. Following field sobriety tests, the man was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. Officer Goodell issued summonses for DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and failure to use headlamps. On April 28, Officer Troy Seifert arrested an 18-year-old Waldwick man for two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Dora Avenue. The man was released pending a date in municipal court. On April 29, a Dora Ave resident reported that her vehicle had been burglarized. Officers reported that the passenger side window was broken and the victims’ pocketbook was taken. Officer Adam Garcia arrested a 43-yearold Fair Lawn woman for DWI on May 2. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Crescent Avenue. Following field sobriety tests, the woman was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. Officer Garcia issued summonses for DWI, refusal to submit to the Alcotest, reckless driving, and driving with no insurance. On May 3, Officer Chris Goodell arrested two 20-year-old Bronx men for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 17. The men were released pending a date in municipal court.
