Page 10 THE VILLADOM TIMES Eli Kosson, from Allendale, is working with his mother, Barbara Savedoff, in creating a Passover seder plate as part of a Family Workshop for Temple Israel of Ridgewood’s religious school. Eli is scraping his design on a specially treated plate. He will later cover the plate with a special cream, wash off the cream, and soak the plate in paint thinner. The result will be a clear, transparent plate with Eli’s design Creating a seder plate: Family workshop at Temple Israel etched upon it. Every traditional Passover seder has a seder plate with six food items that have special significance to the retelling of the story of the exodus from Egypt, which is the focus of this ritual meal. Temple Israel’s religious school offers formal religious school programs for children in Pre-Kindergarten through Seventh grades. Enrollment for the 2009-2010 religious school year begins in May.
