Page 4 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • March 10, 2010 Area On April 20, registered voters will choose their representatives to the local boards of education and will have the opportunity to cast their ballots on the local school budgets for 2010-11. School board candidates who filed by the March 1 deadline are listed below. Allendale There will be no contest in the Allendale K-8 School Board election this year. Incumbents Melissa Duncan and John Geraghty have filed for the two available seats. Ho-Ho-Kus Incumbent trustee Colleen Federer will run unopposed for a second term on the Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Education. John Buffa, who is filling out the unexpired term of former trustee Peter Terenzio, will also run unchallenged for a full term. Terenzio resigned his post when he moved out of the district last year. Northern Highlands Regional High School District The three Upper Saddle River seats on the Northern Highlands Regional High School Board of Education will be defended by the three incumbents, but two challengers will also seek board seats this year. Incumbents Robert Hands, Cheryl Kashishian, and Dale Roberts will seek re-election to their posts as representatives from Upper Saddle River. Ann Pagano and Robert Wei are the two challengers. No seats from Allendale, the other district that elects Candidates file for April school board election trustees to the Northern Highlands Board of Education, are open this year. Saddle River Incumbents Henry Senger and Irene Feldsott will be seeking reelection to their seats on the Saddle River Boar of Education. No challengers filed by last week’s deadline. Upper Saddle River Dr. Jill Stoller and Dante Ferrarie will run unchallenged for new terms on the Upper Saddle River School Board. Waldwick In Waldwick, three candidates have filed for the three available seats on the school board. Incumbents Daniel Marro Sr., Dawn Monaco, and Dominick Novelli will be on the ballot this year. Three Northern Highlands students were accepted into the 2010 NJMEA All State Band. The band performed recently at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The students are Emile Hsu (timpani in the Wind Ensemble), Emili Capicchioni (timpani in the Symphonic Band) and Mike Halliczer (trumpet in the Symphonic Band).
