Michelle Ann Rein of Wyckoff and Philadelphia, PA died June 11. She was 44. She was a scholar, lecturer and Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. She is survived by her parents Marsha and Irwin Rein; her siblings Stephanie Rein, and Jeffrey Rein; three nieces and one nephew. Arrangements were made by the Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union. Before retiring, he was employed at Lederle Labs in Pearl River, NY for 38 years. He is survived by his children Kristine Miele of Suffern, NY, and Barry Reuhl of Cornwall, NY, five grandchildren, and his twin brother Frank. He was a skilled painter in the commercial painting business. He was a member of the Friday Night Bowling league at Interstate Bowling Alley in Ramsey and the Bergen County Dart League. He is survived by his stepfather Robert L. Halloran of Bluffton, SC;, his siblings Laura Simon Richardson of New Hartford, CT, Megan Halloran Romero of Louisville, KY, and Seamus Halloran of Saddle River; one nephew, two aunts, and three cousins. Soojian of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Lakewood and Upper Saddle River, died June 14. She was 80. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband Haig H. Soojian; her children Dr. Michael M. Soojian MD of West Chester, PA, Laurie Woo of Groton, MA, and Barbara Soojian of Needham, MA; five grandchildren and her siblings Jenny Scardigno of Fairfield, Marie Ziccardi, and Margaret Consolatore, both of North Haledon, and Vincent D’Arrigo of Clifton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Before retiring in 1989, he was a teacher at the Bergen County Vocational School in Hackensack for 21 years. He was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church, the Wyckoff Masonic Lodge #287 F&AM, the Fortitude Lodge #200 F&AM of Ramsey, the New Jersey Education Association, and the National Education Association. He is survived by his wife Alice M. “Dolly” Suydam, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. Wrestling clinic available The Pascack Wrestling Clinic will be offered June 28 through July 2, and July 6 through 9 at Wandell School, 97 East Allendale Avenue in Saddle River from 9:30 a.m. to noon. For more information, call (201) 825-3767. Association seeks donations The Social Service Association of Ridgewood and vicinity is seeking donations to send needy children to camp. Many of the agency’s client families have been affected by job losses, illness, and the absence of one or more parent. In many cases, the working parents in these families are unable to afford child care or provide any recreational opportunities to their children when school is out. For over 40 years, SSA has provided camperships for boys and girls who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend day camp. SSA provides basic supplemental financial assistance and case management services to individuals in Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Midland Park, Waldwick, and Wyckoff. Donations to send children to camp may be sent to the Social Service Association, 6 Station Plaza, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. Volunteers needed for Doula program Valley Home Care is recruiting volunteers to join its End of Life Doula Program. Doulas provide emotional, physical, and spiritual support to people who are dying and their loved ones. The volunteers will be trained to work in shifts to help families deal with the around-the-clock demands for care as death approaches. Summer Day Camp available The Gifted Child Society’s Summer Super Stars camp program has openings available for eligible children (age years through grade eight). Summer concert series announced The best of rock and pop tribute bands will headline the 2010 TD Bank Summer Concert Series hosted by The Ramapo College Foundation on the college campus in Mahwah. On four Thursday evenings in July, families from across the region will listen to great music and enjoy a picnic with friends on the band shell lawn. The series will begin July 8 with Jimmy & the Parrots, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band. The group offers the best of Jimmy Buffett along with all time favorite island tunes. Following this first concert, Ramapo College will host a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. The fireworks rain date will be July 15. The B Street Band will appear July 15 with its Springsteen tribute. On July 22, the Glimmer Twins, a Rolling Stones tribute band, will hark back to a time when rock & roll and The Rolling Stones ruled. The final concert will be July 29 with Bobby and the Jets playing Elton John hits. The free concerts begin at 8 p.m. Parking is $5 per vehicle. The college is located at 505 Ramapo Valley Road in Mahwah. In the event of rain, concerts will be held in the Bradley Center Arena on campus.
