Girls and their families may sign up as members of a Girl Scout troop, or as individual Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey offers many exciting programs for girls of all ages. From visiting a local business to international travel, Girls Scouts has something to offer every girl. Financial assistance is available. Membership is open to girls ages five through 17. Clothes Line offers specialty items The Clothes Line Thrift Shop is offering many new items this season. New to the shop are two white fabric side chairs, a starter drum set, prom and special occasion gowns, a microwave, and designer clothes. The Clothes Line Thrift Shop is located in the Archer United Methodist Church. Hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shop will close for July and August. Allendale Notebook Sale to benefit Fell House The Barn Sale benefit for the John Fell House is scheduled for Saturday, June 26 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Items to be sold include some good quality pieces, including heirlooms, high-end furniture, and specialty items. The sale will be held rain or shine at 475 Franklin Turnpike, Allendale and is being sponsored by the Concerned Citizens of Allendale. This non-profit group owns and manages the John Fell House, and is raising funds for the restoration and maintenance of the historical house and property. Upcoming events at the John Fell House include a book signing on Sunday, June 27 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. where the authors of “Revolutionary Bergen County: The Road to Independence” will be on hand to sign copies. From 5 p.m. to midnight on Monday, June 28, Allendale Bar and Grill at 67 West Allendale Avenue will donate a percentage of each patron’s bill to the Fell House.
