Page 20 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • June 16, 2010 The Second Annual Car Show held June 6 was another fundraising success for the Waldwick Community Alliance, which is raising funds to restore Waldwick’s historical train station. There were over 150 cars entered in 31 categories, with trophies awarded for each. “The WCA would like to sincerely thank the dozens of businesses who helped raise money through sponsorships of our trophies and those businesses who donated food. I cannot stress enough how important donations from area businesses are, because every dollar we have to spend on an event is a dollar that does not go back into the train station. So we ask that businesses continue to get involved. We always make sure that their donation is appreciated by recognizing their efforts at our events,” said WCA Vice President Doug Cowie. “The WCA would also like to especially thank Moore Productions for supplying the sound system and stage for the always awesome live music and the Waldwick Chamber of Commerce for their generous monetary donation towards the event. And we cannot forget the Waldwick Mayor & Council, DPW, Police Department, Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corps for allowing us to hold such events and always giving us all the help we WCA appreciates support for recent Car Show need,” he added. “I am very grateful that the whole town always comes together and helps make every WCA event a great success. The public’s support gives us great enthusiasm so we strive to make each event better than the one before.” At top: Best Ford award winner.
