Good Shepherd Church hosts special services Emmanuel Baptist Church announces Christmas services On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m., Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will offer a service for families that will carry a special message for children of all ages, music by the multi-generational instrumental Christmas Consort Orchestra, children’s choirs, and the singing of traditional Christmas carols. The 11 p.m. Christmas Eve Candlelight and Service of Holy Communion will include the traditional candle-lighting ceremony and singing of “Silent Night.” The senior choir will present a special program of music, and Pastor Spencer will preach the life-giving message of Jesus’ birth. The Christmas Day Festival Service of Holy Communion will be Saturday, Dec. 25 at 10:30 a.m. Good Shepherd is located at the corner of Rock Road and Ackerman Avenue in Glen Rock. Christmas Eve services offered Ridgewood United Methodist Church, 100 Dayton Street in Ridgewood, has planned three services for Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. There will be a 4 p.m. Children’s Service, a 10:30 p.m. program of Christmas music, and an 11 p.m. Candlelight Service. Christmas services at Emmanuel Baptist Church, located on the corner of Hope Street and East Ridgewood Avenue, will begin with a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. Christmas Sunday worship, Dec. 26 is at 10:30 a.m. and a Jazz Brunch will be held on Sunday, Jan. 2 with David Dallon and friends performing. West Side sets Christmas Services West Side Presbyterian Church invites the public its worship services during the Christmas holiday season. On Christmas Eve, West Side will offer three services: The 2 p.m. Family Nativity Service is an informal, interactive, intergenerational service, designed especially for families with young children. The Christmas story is told with drama, audience participation, and song. The service will feature the Cantata Choir comprised of kindergarten and first grade children, and the Youth String Ensemble. There will be a Festival of Lessons and Carols at 4:30 p.m., with a traditional service of lessons and carols, featuring the children’s and youth choirs, the Calvin Bell Choir, and a brass ensemble. The prelude will begin at 4:10 p.m. There will be a live video feed in the chapel to accommodate overflow attendance and an online video streaming for those who are unable to attend. Holy Communion Worship Service at 10:30 p.m. will feature the Chancel Choir, Westminster Bell Choir, and a string ensemble. The prelude will begin at 10:10 p.m. An online video streaming will be available for those who are unable to attend. On Dec. 26, West Side will offer one worship service at 10 a.m. Members and friends will present vocal and instrumental music of the season on New Year’s Eve at 5:45 p.m. A Holy Communion Worship Service will take place at 6:30 p.m., followed by a New Year’s Eve celebration in the narthex. On Jan. 2, a Celebration of Epiphany with A Holy Communion Worship Service will be held at 10 a.m. The church is located at Varian Fry Way, 6 South Monroe Street in Ridgewood.
