Waldwick December 22, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • Page 11 Waldwick is undertaking additional energy efficiencies at no cost to the taxpayers. The borough recently received grants totaling $50,000 from the New Jersey Clean Energy Program and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) rebate program. The funds will be used to upgrade heating ventilating and air conditioning systems and install energy efficient lighting at the Ambulance Corps building, the Health Department and Fire Company No. 2, all Energy grants will fund upgrades at three buildings off Wyckoff Avenue. The nurse’s office and the ambulance building will get brand new electric split HVAC systems and gas fired furnaces. All three building will get lighting upgrades, including LED lights for the exit signs. “These upgrades really add up,” commented Councilwoman Anita Bozzo, who praised Assistant Borough Administrator Jordan Battisti for being aware of the program and submitting the successful application. Lime Energy, the Wood-Bridge contractor selected by the New Jersey Clean Energy Program who is doing the work, audited the buildings and recommended what upgrades made the most sense. Made available to municipalities by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to lower the cost of installing energy conservation measures, the program is administered by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU). The funds must be expended by Dec. 31, 2011. Last year state and PSE&G energy grants funded $32,000 worth of upgrades to the public works garage on Industrial Avenue. The grant covered a new heating system and the replacement of lighting fixtures inside and outside the building with advanced, highly efficient technology products that provide more capability using less electricity, resulting in substantial annual savings to the municipality. Hair Care Family Waldwick Board of Education trustee Dominic J.
