Casino Night set Guardian Angel Church in Allendale will host its Second Annual Casino Night on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at the church auditorium. Tickets are $50 and include a catered dinner and $100 in “play money.” Casino Night is open to individuals age 21 and over. The event will also feature prize baskets and a cash prize. Fyke plans Christmas Bird Count Fyke Nature Association will hold its annual Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, Dec. 18. This count is part of the 111th Christmas Bird Count, a continent-wide program organized by the National Audubon Society. Working from dawn to dusk, at least eight teams will cover a 15-mile diameter circle centered on Lake Erskine, counting all the birds they see and hear. The association’s circle includes Ramsey, Mahwah, Allendale, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Oakland, Wayne, Pompton Lakes, Bloomingdale, Ringwood, West Milford, Greenwood Lake, Tuxedo, Hillburn, Sloatsburg, and Suffern. The entire group will assemble at 5:30 p.m. at the Allendale Municipal Building, 500 West Crescent Avenue in Allendale to review the day’s results. Group adorns church
The show will benefit the restoration of The John Fell House. The evening will be held at Seasons in Washington Township, and will feature a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, gift basket prizes, and the fashion show. Christmas Cantata set The Archer United Methodist Church Chancel Choir
will present its Annual Christmas Cantata at the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Dec. 19. The cantata, “In Their Eyes” was written by choir member Jeff Seise (ASCAP). Rev. David Harwood will narrate, and soloists will be Laura Van Orden, Don Seise, Nancy Cauwenberghs and Jeff Seise. The AUMC Chancel Choir is directed by Dmitri Kochtcheev. All are welcome.
