Ho-Ho-Kus April 28, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • Page 3 Interim business administrator named for K-8 district by Jennifer Crusco Anthony D’Achille has been named interim business administrator of the HoHo-Kus Public School at a board of education held last week. D’Achille will begin his work May 3 and will serve the district one to two days a week during the months of May and June. He will earn $400 per day for his service to the district. Ho-Ho-Kus School Superintendent Deborah Ferrara noted that the district is looking for a permanent business administrator to step in by July 1. D’Achille’s career in education includes employment as a math teacher in the Middlesex County Vocational Schools. He has also served as co-op industrial education coordinator at Roselle High School. He is a certified math teacher, principal, business administrator, and school administrator. He has served as a business administrator in the Saddle Brook, Northvale, and Teaneck school districts. Now retired from fulltime work, D’Achille’s last post was interim business administrator of the East Newark schools. D’Achille will step in to the post held by James Davis, who will begin his new post as business administrator for the Oakland public schools May 1. His move left both Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale and the Ho-Ho-Kus K8 Public School searching for a replacement for him. Since 2008, the regional district has employed Davis as its business administrator, and the K-8 public school in Ho-HoKus has employed him as administrator, assistant board secretary, and transportation coordinator. Although the districts shared Davis’ services, New Jersey law prohibits the same individual from holding the post of board secretary in more than one district. Davis began his career in Ho-Ho-Kus as a business administrator and board secretary in 1997. He accepted a position in North Bergen in 2002, but returned to Ho-Ho-Kus in 2004. In July 2008, the K-8 school made arrangements to share Davis with Northern Highlands. That arrangement called for Davis to receive a salary of $167,200, with 70 percent funded by Northern Highlands and 30 percent funded by Ho-Ho-Kus. The formula was based on the amount of time Davis was to spend in each district. Davis has been spending one full day and one half-day at the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School. Davis is a graduate of Saint Peter’s College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Superintendent Ferrara previously stated that the district would look into the possibility of sharing a new, permanent business administrator with another district.
