Musicians perform at Lincoln Center The Northern Highlands Regional High School Wind Ensemble and Concert Choir will perform on the Avery Fisher Hall Stage at Lincoln Center on Tuesday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. The students will be taking part in a program sponsored by Perform America called America’s Youth in Concert. Sotiropoulos at sotiro pout@northernhighlands.org Coffee House planned The Brookside Hillside Music and Art Association is sponsoring a Coffee House at Archer Hall in Allendale on Saturday April 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. Brookside School’s sixth, seventh, and eighth grades students will showcase their talents. Skits, music, improvisation, poetry, and magic acts will be included. Visit www.BHMAA.org. Archer holds annual AB&G Sale Archer United Methodist Church will host its 40th Annual AB&G Sale (Attic, Basement, and Garage Sale) on Saturday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will be held throughout the church, which is located at the corner of Franklin Turnpike and East Allendale Avenue, Allendale. New for this year is “Cash for Gold.” Bring gold and sterling silver items to the sale and turn it into cash. Food, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase. The church will accept salable donations of gently used furniture, linens, small appliances, kitchen accessories, holiday
items, sporting goods, toys, bikes, lawn equipment, baby items, books, and other household goods, which may be dropped off April 26 through 30. Patrons honored at reception The Friends of the Allendale Library will host a reception to honor the library’s patrons for their generous contributions toward the recently-installed circulation desk. The reception has been scheduled for May 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lee Memorial Library, 500 West Crescent Avenue. Local author Adam Keeble, will be present to sign copies of his new book, “Don’t Put Baby in the Corner.” Refreshments will be served. The new circulation desk was designed, constructed, and assembled entirely from community donations, and proceeds from the ongoing and the semi-annual book sales. Freeholder Hermansen to address Republican Club Freeholder Rob Hermansen will be the guest speaker at the April 27 meeting of the Allendale Republican Club. AFEE accepts grant proposals The Allendale Foundation for Educational Excellence, Inc. will be accepting grant proposals through April 26. Parents, teachers, local business people, students, staff, and all other members of the community are encouraged to participate in making proposals for projects or programs
that are in keeping with the foundation’s mission, which is to enhance and broaden the educational experience of all students attending Allendale’s Hillside and Brook-

Marjorie tells us, “I am not out of the woods yet. We have many medical issues to deal with, but we’re able to meet the challenges and I do not feel all alone in this. An 18-year resident, he holds degrees from Seton Hall and Fairleigh Dickinson universities and is the CEO for the National Kitchen and Bath Association. He serves as president of the Highlands Community Association, and previously served as vice president and park commissioner. Prior to joining the council, he served for 10 years on the Waldwick Library Board. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and has coached soccer and softball. He and his wife, Karen, have two children and are parishioners of St. Luke’s Church.
