A Mom and Tot session for two- and threeyear-olds will be held from 3 to 3:45 p.m., and a Storytime Yoga class for children who are ages four through eight will be held from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Happy Elephant Yoga School will offer six-week yoga classes starting April 26. The Mom and Me Tots Yoga program is for mothers and children who are two and three years old. This session will begin April 26 and will be held from 10 to 10:45a.m. Storytime Yoga for children four through eight years of age will begin May 5. Friends plan author luncheon Author and interior designer Scott Sanders will speak at the 2010 Designer Showhouse of New Jersey on Monday, May 24. The house will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $35 and include a self-guided tour followed by a buffet lunch and the speaker’s 1 p.m. presentation. Tickets are only available at the Upper Saddle River Library. A portion of the admission fee will benefit the John Theurer Cancer Center at HUMC and Friends of the Upper Saddle River Library. Support group hosts roundtable The Support Group for Ramsey/Saddle River Parents of Children with Special Needs will meet April 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 55 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey. Learn about organic gardening Bob Malgieri, tree and shrub care manager at Borst Landscape and Design, will explain the concepts of organics, how soil health affects plant life, and natural lawn and tree care methods at the Upper Saddle River Library on Wednesday, April 21 at 7 p.m. Learn the importance of creating balance between beneficial organisms and the soil and grass, how to add vital nutrients to the soil without harmful chemicals, and organic ways to treat tree and shrub disease and pests. The library is located at 245 Lake Street. Cleanup Day announced The Annual Upper Saddle River Cleanup Day, sponsored by the recreation commission, will be held on Saturday, May 15 from 8 a.m. to noon. Participants will meet at Lions Park anytime within those hours and may spend as much time as they wish picking up trash from various sections of town. Garbage bags will be provided, and there will be a truck in Lions Park where filled bags may be deposited. Although there is much work to be done in Lions Park, volunteer groups will also be working in additional areas, including the school grounds, the Riverwalk, and Hess Park. Volunteer parents are needed to drive children to various locations. All organizations in Upper Saddle River are encouraged to participate in keeping the borough clean and beautiful. Williams will present a workshop on buying a franchise or starting a new business. This program will be held at the Upper Saddle River Library, 245 Lake Street, Upper Saddle River, at 7:30 p.m. As the economy changes, more people who have invested their lives in a corporate job find themselves being downsized. Many are interested in starting a business and are looking for information. This workshop is designed to provide general information and to help with questions about starting a business. Michalski, an avid gardener, will outline a simple and affordable technique to backyard leaf composting.
