Ho-Ho-Kus April 7, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • Page 3 District planning reductions in force by Jennifer Crusco The $11,994,685 tentative 2010-11 school budget that will be submitted to Ho-Ho-Kus’ registered voters on April 20 includes a tax levy of $11,165, 103, which will result in a tax increase of $300 on a home assessed at $906,178. Among the cuts in the spending plan is a reduction in force of five non-tenured teachers. At a special meeting of the Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Education and the borough council, School Superintendent Deborah Ferrara pointed out that the district has made several difficult decisions due to the district’s loss of approximately $1,068,000 in state aid. “We were faced with incredible challenges this year,” Ferrara told the council. The superintendent explained that the district currently employs five non-tenured teachers who will not be rehired for the coming school year.
