Village sets hearing for salary ordinance
director of public works and village engineer, $86,305 to $156,317, which is the same range as the salary range for the director of community services. The director of building inspections range is $65,000 to $128,872. The salary ordinance includes the members of the Ridgewood Village Council, some senior administrative assistants, and a number of part-time employees. The ordinance includes a maximum salary of $5,000 for the mayor, and $3,000 for each member of the Ridgewood Village Council. The assistant to the village manager will receive a salary in the range of $567,380 to $67,517, and the administrative clerk will receive a salary in the range of $50,448 to $67,057. The deputy village clerk will receive a salary of $48,345 to $65,749. The fee for the village attorney is set at $30,166, with a range of $18,158 to $27,738 for the municipal court judge, and $8,472 to $14,409 for the municipal prosecutor. The assistant assessor’s salary will range from $53,838 to $65,307. Police department salaries will include a range of $47,790 to $58,499 for the administrative clerk with typing, $43,440 to $51,591 for the parking violations officer, $39,663 to $51,151 for the department’s senior clerk typist, $34,804 to $45,864 for the clerk typist, and $34,748 to $43,855 for the parking enforcement officer. The water utility engineer’s salary range will be $62,733 to $81,907. The animal control/property maintenance officer’s salary range will be $41,210 to $66,267. The hourly wages for part-time workers are also cover and range from $46.39 for the electrical subcode official and $41 for plumbing subcode official to $6.21 to $16.56 for part-time pool laborers.
The Ridgewood Village Council will hold an Oct. 13 adoption hearing on a management salary ordinance that provides a two percent salary increase for those senior management members who are still employed in administration. Two recently retired Ridgewood Fire Department officers, former chief James Bombace and former deputy chief David Yaden, were exempted and were paid at the rate of 4.2 percent for the months they served during 2010 for the purposed of completing their pensions. Ridgewood Concert Band to open new season
The Ridgewood Concert Band’s 28th season will open on Friday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. at West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 Monroe Street in Ridgewood. As a premier concert band, attracting professional, semi-professional, and committed advanced amateur musicians, The Ridgewood Concert Band consistently delivers diverse and entertaining programming, delighting audiences at home and abroad. The band, led by Conductor Dr. Chris Wilhjelm, recently returned from a European musical tour. The new season will open with “Organic Band,” featuring guest organist Joanne Rodland, who will play “Symphony #5 for Organ” by Charles-Marie Widor. Also featured will be a prelude performance by The Orpheus Club Men’s Chorus. Joining them will be the women of the Ridgewood Choral Group. Both groups will join the band for selected pieces, including “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Other program highlights will include William Walton’s “Crown Imperial,” Michael Daugherty’s “Bells for Stokowski,” and JaromirWeinberger’s polka and fugue from “Schwanda the Bagpiper.” Tickets may be purchased at a discount at www.ridgewoodband.org or may be purchased at the door. Senior pricing is available. In order to enjoy the entire season of five concerts, season subscriptions are also available.
