Tea at Two meetings resume The Glen Rock Library’s Tea at Two on Tuesday Book Discussion will resume on Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. The group meets the third Tuesday of each month. The September selection will be “The Daughter of Time” by Josephine Tey. All readers are invited to this informal discussion group where tea and cookies are served. Multiple copies are available at the reference desk. “The Daughter of Time,” a unique combination of the detective story and a work of history, has been selected as one of the top 100 mystery books of all time. Tey recreates one of history’s most infamous crimes: the killing of the Little Princes in the Tower. In the classic best-selling novel, Inspector Alan Grant of Scotland Yard, recuperating from a broken leg, becomes fascinated with a contemporary portrait of Richard III that bears no resemblance to the Wicked Uncle of history. Could such a sensitive, noble face actually belong to one of the world’s most heinous villains: a venomous hunchback who may have killed his brother’s children to make his crown secure? Or could Richard have been the victim, turned into a monster by the usurpers of England’s throne? Grant determines to find out once and for all.
