The Glen Rock Senior Advisory Committee, chaired by Doris Ciaramella, reminds residents over 65 years of age and those residents of any age who cannot drive, that senior bus transportation is available at no cost and that taxi tickets are available at a significant discount. The Glen Rock Community Shuttle Bus is free, and older residents may be picked up at the Glen Rock Senior Citizen housing at Glen Courts or at their own homes to participate in weekly events. rides at least 24 hours in advance. Regular shopping trips take seniors to Kilroy’s on Tuesdays; the “Mall of the Week” on Thursdays -- the Garden State Plaza, Paramus Park, and the Fashion Center on a rotating basis; and to Shop Rite in Fair Lawn on Fridays. The bus may be reserved, as available, for trips to local doctors’ offices. Return trips are possible, but not guaranteed depending on schedule commitments. Glen Rock also helps subsidize a Taxi Voucher Program in which residents may purchase a book of tickets worth $25 for $11. The borough picks up the difference. Anyone who needs a ride or further information may call Paula Fleming or The Glen Rock Public Library will present “Cheer from Chawton: A Jane Austen Family Theatrical” performed by borough resident Karen Eterovich, on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. Eterovich also wrote the play, which is based on the life of the legendary novelist, Jane Austen, and highlights Austen’s contributions to the world of literature,
