Area October 27, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 5 The Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts in Bergen County have unveiled and launched a first-of-its-kind website in VFW District 2. Interested individuals may log on at www.vfwdistrict2nj.com. The members of the ad hoc website committee include Steve Vreeland, chairman, Post 7502 of Franklin Lakes; John Kelly Sr.; Thomas Marshall, Post 809 of Little Ferry; Charles Tanner, Post 805 of Glen Rock; Frank Zabransky, Post 809 of Little Ferry, and Stanley Kober, Post 192 of Ho-Ho-Kus/Ridgewood. District Two Commander John J. Kelly Sr. of Mahwah VFW Post 7124 said the committee “wanted to provide a quick and easy mode of communication for our members and other veterans, while allowing the public to see what we’re all about. As I said in my remarks to our members VFW District Two launches new website earlier this year, we want to take our lamp from under the bushel and let people know what’s going on with the VFW in Bergen County. But, most importantly, we want to give easy access to all veterans to the important information that is out there to meet their needs regardless of age or military experience.” Webmaster Kober, District 2 adjutant/ chief of staff and commander of the Washington Elm VFW Post 192, worked with Dina Dadian, vice president of Web operations at powersolution, Inc. in Ho-Ho-Kus to implement the website. Kober said the overarching goal stated by District Commander Kelly at the outset was made possible by keeping the website simple to use, appealing, informative, and as intuitive as possible. “There is a vast amount of information out there for veterans and it is our job to make that information accessible for them and their families,” Kober said. “We look forward to the use of it by our veterans and others and welcome their input for consideration in making the district’s website the best it can be.” The Veterans of Foreign Wars District Two has been the official VFW organization for Bergen County since 1946. All military personnel on active duty or honorably discharged veterans who wish to help make a beneficial difference for other veterans, active duty personnel, and their families, should contact their local VFW Post in Bergen County, or go to www.vfwdistrict2nj.com/ and click on the FIND A POST button.
