Ridgewood October 27, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 13 Ridgewood’s Old Paramus Reformed Church will hold its 138th Annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the barrier-free education building at 660 East Glen Avenue.Doors are open to all for great bargains, and admission is free. The fair includes gift-basket prizes, including Mountain Creek season passes and certificates from local shops and restaurants; a lap-size handmade quilt; a Christmas corner; furniture, jewelry, linens, books, records, toys, antiques, china, collectibles, and more. A Bake Shoppe and Pantry will sell homemade baked goods and soups, and a produce �� apples and other produce. Harvest Fair returns Registration is currently underway for the next session of after school programs offered by the Ridgewood Recreation Division. Classes will be held at The Stable, 259 North Maple Avenue. Instructors encourage a hands-on, individual pace to all students for the following classes: Explore Science: All about Your Senses is for children in kindergarten through grade three and will meet on Mondays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. beginning Nov. 8. Students will learn about the five senses and how to use a phenakistoscope and periscope. One project will involve building a soundbox. The cost for the six classes is $90, and all materials will be provided. Children in grades two through five may register for the acrylic painting class, which will be held Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. beginning Nov. 9. Participants will receive individualized attention and will be provided with goals and objectives to help them find their own personal approach to painting. The cost is $54 for six classes; materials are additional, and a list will be provided at registration. Kids N Cameras will be offered to children in kindergarten through grade three on Tuesdays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. beginning Nov. 9. Participants will learn about photography in motion, the history of photography, basic rules, and more. A gallery exhibit will conclude the session. Students in grades two through five are welcome to join the drawing class on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. beginning Nov. 10. Sculpture Studio with Abrakadoodle will be offered to children in kindergarten through grade three on Wednesdays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. beginning Nov. 10. Students will experiment with a variety of sculpting methods, learn the basics of clay, and create a variety of art. The cost is $120 for six classes and includes all materials. The Aviation Club is open to children in kindergarten through grade five on Fridays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. beginning Nov. 12. Participants will gain knowledge of the world of aviation, learn how to read and evaluate construction plans, and how to use various hobby tools as they create and operate a variety of air models. The cost for five sessions is $100, which includes all materials.
