She is survived by her children Jane Guidotti, Lydia DeHope, Helen DeHope, Nancy McGarry, Mary Grigoriew, and Ruth Hollingsworth, 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband George H. Arrangements were made by Egizi Funeral Home in Turnersville. Daniel Giletta of Wyckoff died Sept. 29. He was 21. He was an electrical engineering student at Villanova University in Haverford, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Saint Elizabeth’s Elementary School in Wyckoff and a 2007 graduate of Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at Villanova University. He is survived by his parents Bernard and Sigrun (nee Beck) Giletta of Wyckoff, brothers Bernie of Wyckoff and Paul of Hawthorne, and twin nieces Claire and Katherine. Elsie Marie Golden of Wyckoff, formerly of North Haledon and Oakland, died Sept. 24. She was 72. She had worked as a claims processor at Churchill Administrators of Englewood Cliffs for over 40 years. She was a member of Midland Park Christian Reformed Church, where she served in many capacities, most recently as a deaconess. She is survived by her husband John, her children Gregory, and Laura Gorter, both of North Haledon, and Lisa Kuperus of Wantage, 11 grandchildren, and her sister Joan Mabie of Wyckoff. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Elise, and her sister Pearl Abma. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Memorial donations may be made to the Elise K. Catherine DeHope Daniel Giletta Daniel Peter Hemkes of New Baltimore, Virginia, formerly of Ridgewood and Wyckoff, died Sept. 20. He was 81. He was a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers veteran of Korean War. Before retiring in 1989, he was the bus driver coordinator and locksmith for the Ridgewood Public Schools. He is survived by his wife Bernice Bainton Hemkes, his daughter Linda Hopkins, three grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, and his siblings Emma Copeland, Isabel Sweetman, and David Hemkes. He was predeceased by his brothers Sam, Timothy, William, Peter, and sister Trina. Memorial donations may be made to the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat, 700 Mountain Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481-1099. Gerard J. Meyers of Mahwah, formerly of Ridgewood, died Sept. 29. He was 80. He was a graduate of Calvin College. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was vice president and technical director at Pettit Paint in Rockaway. He was a member of the Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, where he served as a deacon, elder, Bible Study leader, and building and grounds chairman. He was also a member the choir and of the church administration. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Meyers (nee Van Hook) of Mahwah, his children Sally Stegink of Michigan, Virginia Vander Plaat of Hawthorne, David Meyers of Georgia, and Pamela Weber of Wantage, 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his sister Eunice Broersma of Franklin Lakes. Nicola “Nick” Russo of Jupiter, Florida, formerly of Ridgewood, died Sept. 28. He was 75. He was active in real estate and partners with Eugene J. Ferraro of RussoFerraro Realty and Development, LLC in Ridgewood. He is survived by his children John F. Russo of Ridgewood, and Stephen M. Russo of Mahwah, six grandchildren, and his former wife Theresa M. Russo. He was predeceased by his son Nicky. Arrangements were made by C. C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Bruce A. Weir of Westwood, formerly of Ridgewood, died Sept. 25. He was 50. Before retiring in 2005, he was employed at Unilever of Englewood Cliffs or 18 years. He is survived by his siblings Paul W. Weir of Mahwah, Brenda W. Brown of Colorado, and Donna W. DiLuzio of Ridgewood, three nieces, one nephew, and two grandnephews. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Borkowski exhibits photographs Photographer Hildi Borkowski will display her exhibit, “Promises,” at the Stable Gallery, 259 North Maple Avenue in Ridgewood, during the month of October. The exhibit, comprised of approximately 50 photographs, will include a Meet the Artist morning coffee at 10 a.m. on Oct. 7. Borkowski began taking photographs as a hobby over 30 years ago. She finds the natural beauty of landscapes and nature to be peaceful and comforting. Borkowski has exhibited in several venues in and around Bergen County, and has won recognition from many organizations. Her memberships include the Pascack Art Association, the Ringwood Manor Art Association, the National Association of Professional Women, the Photographic Association of America, the Teaneck Camera Club, and the Puffin Foundation Camera Club.
