Joan Hodgetts Diamond of Concord Wharf, Virginia, formerly of Ridgewood, died Nov. 11. She was 73. She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Stewart S. Diamond, her sons Robert H. Diamond of Pompton Lakes, and John G. Diamond of Waldwick, three grandchildren, and one greatgrandson. Arrangements were made by Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore, Virginia. Paul E. Herrlett of Glen Rock died Nov. 12. He was 67. He was the transportation coordinator for the Borough of Glen Rock where he was the director of the Glen Rock Commuter Shuttle Program. He was a 30-year member and president of the Borough of Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was also president of the Borough of Glen Rock Board of Health. He was a parishioner of Saint Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock. He is survived by his wife Diane (Garzilli) Herrlett, his children Matthew and Peter Herrlett, and his brother-in-law Vincent Garzilli. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Inc. in Fair Lawn. He was a U.S. Korean Army veteran. Before retiring, he was a sales manager for Equifax Services for 34 years. He was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Midland Park, and a member of the VFW Post in Midland Park. He is survived by his wife Betty (nee Dykstra) Hinnes of Midland Park, his children Cynthia A. Ver Hage of Midland Park, James Hinnes of Wantage, and Karen Vasile of Waterford, Virginia, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his sister Elizabeth Langendoen of Franklin Lakes. He

She was the director of nursing at Eastwick College in Ramsey. She was a member of the Allendale Board of Education, and served on many community programs and committees. She is survived by her children Laura Huisking of Hawthorne, William Huisking of Allendale, and Sara Huisking of Allendale, her parents James and Gladys of Dauphin, Pennsylvania, her sister Phyllis of Long Island, and her brothers James of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Frank of Greenville, North Carolina, and William of Houston, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. Manfred “Matt” Matthews, formerly of Waldwick, died Oct. 28. He was 61. Before his retirement, he was employed by the Midland Park Public Schools for 25 years. He is survived by his wife Robin Matthews (nee Lightenberg), and his sons Stewart Matthews of Vernon and Nicholas Matthews of Saint Cloud, Florida. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at the Advent Lutheran Church 777 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff. She was a nurse’s aide at the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff before retiring in 1990. She was a member of Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church, formerly of Irving Park Christian Reformed Church. She was a member of the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat Auxiliary. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Victoria Piejak, nee Chwaz, of Ridgewood died Nov. 16. She was 90. She is survived by her children Barbara Piejak and Carol Coughlin, both of Ridgewood, her sisters Rose Genito, Veronica Ullrich, and Sophie Short, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Emil, her brothers Frank and John, and her sister Lotta. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Martin Rappaport of Saddle River died Nov. 15. He was 75. He owned and operated Rappaport Real Estate, later he became co-owner of Driscoll Foods in Clifton. He was a member of the board of directors of Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York, for many years. A building at Blythedale is being named in his memory. He was the cofounder of the Max & Lillian Rappaport Foundation for the Treatment and Study of Social Trauma, Inc. He acquired and developed a therapeutic farm for children and adults in Millbrook, New York. He is survived by his wife Dr. Sondra Rappaport (nee Blank), and his children Amy Rappaport of Belchertown, Massachusetts and Michael Rappaport of Fort Myers, Florida. Arrangements were made by Schoem’s Menorah Chapel in Paramus. Memorial donations may be made to Blythedale Children’s Hospital. Vito J. Romeo of Glen Rock died Nov. 14. He was 84. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Before retiring in 1992, he was a vice-president with Citi Bank in Long Island City for 38 years. He was a parishioner of Saint Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock. He was a member of the Activities Club of Glen Rock. He is survived by his wife Josephine (nee LaBianca) Romeo, his children Barbara J. Romeo, Victor J.
