Candidda C. Cerna, nee Calzada, of Ridgewood, formerly of Norwood, died Nov. 9. She is survived by her children Candida Moore, and Luz Marta Dixon, and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Juan, and her granddaughter Jennifer. Arrangements were made by Clerici Funeral Home in Union City. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Stephanie “Steffy” Devigne died Nov. 7. She was 65. She attended schools and workshops for special needs children and adults throughout her life. Her early education was at special school programs in Ridgewood and later at the Fair Lawn Opportunity Center. In 1990, she moved with her father to Marietta, Georgia. After 1992, she lived in several group homes in Marietta and Douglassville, Georgia. She is survived by her brother Lloyd of Easton, Maryland, sister-in-law Karen Devigne of Marietta, Georgia, one niece, and three nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Jules and Lucille Devigne and her brother Jules L Devigne. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Elizabeth H. “Betty” Dickinson of Ridgewood died Nov. 7. She was 89. A graduate of The Bishop’s School in La Jolla, California and Bennington College, she served as a pharmacist’s mate, second class, in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a former trustee of Kent School in Kent, Connecticut and Bennington College. She had a private pilot certificate and was a competitive sailor and golfer. She and her husband were survivors of the burning and sinking ship M.V. Prinsendam off the coast of Alaska in 1980. She is survived by her daughters Ann

Fairweather, nee Taranto, of Haskell, formerly of Whiting, Oakland, and Waldwick, died Nov. 8. She was 92. She was a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC Church, Oakland; Saint Luke’s RC Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, where she had been a member of the Rosary Society; and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church in Whiting, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and a volunteer in the church library. She served as a volunteer at Valley Hospital’s Kurth Cottage. She is survived by her children Carolyn J. Hughes of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Janice A. Webster of Oakland, Karen F. Fairweather of Fair Lawn, Paul A. Fairweather of San Marcos, California, Arthur R. Fairweather of New Market, Maryland, Gregory L. Fairweather of Hewitt, and Donald J. Fairweather of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her siblings Christina Hartman of Paramus, Bartolomeo Taranto of West Caldwell, and Francis Taranto of Englewood Cliffs. Fisher of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, formerly of Midland Park, died Nov. 9. He was 84. He was a U.S. veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of Ridgewood High School and Oglethorpe University. He was employed by Rustoleum, Ridgewood Paint, and Town Paint in Hyannis, Massachusetts. He was a member of the Ridgewood Singers and the Mid-Cape Chorus. He was a charter member of the VFW in Midland Park. He is survived by his wife Jean (Busam), his children Kim Fisher of Florida, New York, and Brian Fisher of Burlington, Vermont, and his sister Jane Lindloff of Florida. Harper of Ridgewood, formerly of Bergenfield, died Nov. 7. He was 61. He was an employee of Sprint, and formerly Nextel in Rutherford. He is survived by his children David J. Harper Jr., and Chris Harper, his mother Doris Harper, his brother of Robert Harper Jr. and two nephews. He was predeceased by his father Robert Harper. She is survived by her daughters Claire Van Eck of Midland Park, Carol Faber of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Mary Ruth DeVries of Winter Haven, Florida, five grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren, and her sister Dorothy Nagle of Centerville, Massachusetts.
