Midland Park’s Highland Elementary School has received a $750 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program to support the school’s Summer Math Camp. Ridgewood on the Run Fuels & Convenience Store of Ridgewood worked with Dr. William B. Heebink, Midland Park’s former superintendent of schools, to secure the grant, which is one of 2,400 available to schools across the country served by Exxon or Mobil stations. He has made several films about the history and politics of Asia including “The Real Dr. Evil” (BBC/Arts & Entertainment 2003), “Who Really Killed Aung San?” (BBC2 1997), “Malaya: The Undeclared War” (BBC2 1998), and “China: Handle with Care (C4 2001) Bearers of the Sword” (C4 2002). “Enemies of the People” will be shown in its entirety in the H-Wing Auditorium (H-129) on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Communication Arts Cinematheque series. On Monday, Nov. 8, a portion of the film and a discussion with Lemkin will take place at 3:45 p.m. in the H-Wing Auditorium. The screenings and presentation are free and open to the public.
