Free trees available to borough homeowners The Glen Rock Shade Tree Advisory Committee has announced that borough residents may now request free trees. Trees will be planted in the right-of-way along the streets in front of their homes. While trees are being planted in November, the committee will be evaluating residents’ request forms as they are submitted and determining priority for planting. The top priority will be for trees on sides of streets without electrical wires. Second priority will go to locations on the side of the street where electrical lines are located, but where trees can be planted farther away from the street and not directly under the lines.
Tree request forms are available at Glen Rock Borough Hall. Residents may send their e-mail address to GlenRockTreeTrust@gmail.com and an electronic version of the form will be sent to then. Special fundraiser underway The Home School Association of Academy of Our Lady in Glen Rock is offering tickets for its annual fundraiser. The cash prize for the first place winner will be $25,000. There will be 10 prizes of $500 each. Tickets cost $100 and only 600 will be sold. The winner will be announced on Sunday, June 13 after the noon mass.
