The Ridgewood Police Department has announced that a “Click It or Ticket” campaign will start on May 24 and run through June 6, augmenting the existing enforcement of seat belt regulations. Patrols and seat belt checkpoints will also focus on telltale signs of drunk driving, another target of enforcement. Police point out that drivers and passengers who wear seat belts reduce their chances of serious injuries in case of collision by 75 percent. Summonses will be issued to drivers who are not wearing their seat belts and to those who drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. During a stop on May 6 at 10:38 p.m., Patrolman Patrick Elwood found that two passengers of a car were in possession of marijuana. The adult passenger, an 18year-old Ridgewood man, was charged
