This event is open to the community. Funds from the event will be used for the teens’ summer mission trip to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children age 12 and under, and are sold at Fellowship Hour after worship service. Felz to appraise antiques The public is invited to bring their antique and collectible items to the Antique Appraisal Program at Ridgewood’s Old Paramus Reformed Church on Saturday, March 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. Doors to the barrier-free education building will open at 12:30 p.m. Seating is limited. Appraisals will be limited to two items per person at $5 per item. Jon Felz, a certified appraiser with 30 years experience in estate sales and auctions, will conduct the program. Felz is a member of the New England Appraisers Association, and is president of RZM Fine Arts and Antiques in Pearl River, New York. Register for fall soccer Registration for the Ridgewood Soccer Association’s 2010 fall programs will open April 1 and run through May 15. The soccer season runs from Sept. 11 to Nov. 20 with programs available for children and teens in first through grade 12. Programs are offered for all skill levels. In-town pro- grams are available for children in grades one through sixth. Travel programs are available for players in grades five through 12. Scrimmages are organized during the week, and games are played on Sunday afternoons. The RSA also offers a special needs program that meets on Saturday afternoons. This program, designed for children ages six through 14, develops skills and promotes physical fitness. All participants are paired with a coach-mentor from the Ridgewood High School Girls Soccer team and receive individualized attention in a small group setting. TD Bank opens new location On Saturday, March 27, TD Bank will celebrate the opening of its newest Bergen County location at North Maple Avenue and Pine Street in Ridgewood from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The new branch is the bank’s second location in Ridgewood. The opening party is free and open to the public and will feature free food, refreshments, giveaways, a stilt walker, a balloon artist, free photos with the Easter Bunny, a DJ, games and prizes, an appearance by Sly the New Jersey Nets Mascot, a noon ribbon cutting ceremony, and the presentation of a $5,000 donation to YWCA of Bergen County from the TD Charitable Foundation. Library launches discussion group The Ridgewood Public Library is offering village residents a new monthly discussion group “Great Decisions” beginning March 25 at 12:30 p.m. The group, facilitated by Nancy Greene and Dr. Virginia Hyman, is based on a long- standing program produced by the Foreign Policy Association. The Global Financial Crisis will be the topic on March 25, and participants will consider other areas of interest. Using FPA Topic Guidebooks, future subjects will include “Peace Building and Conflict Resolution,” “Russia and its Neighbors,” and “U.S.–China Security Relations.” The 2010 Topic Guidebooks provide in-depth articles and resources for independent research, and can be borrowed (or ordered for purchase) at the library. Students offered Ultimate Frisbee A spring session of Ultimate Frisbee is being offered to students in grades four through eight by the Ridgewood Department of Parks and Recreation and the Falcon Sports Academy. Classes will be held at the Irene Habernickel Family Park for five weeks on Thursdays from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. Sessions begin May 6. The fee is $95 per student. No materials are required.
