Ridgewood January 27, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 7 Family Concert comes to West Side Presbyterian The community is invited to enjoy a musical presentation on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 4 p.m. at West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood. Parlance Chamber Concerts’ special Family Concert, designed for ages 6 to 96, will feature leading members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the charismatic piano duo Anderson & Roe. The program will feature Camille Saint-Saëns’ beloved “Carnival of the Animals” and Ogden Nash’s poems read by Dr. Gareth Icenogle. The concert will also include introductions to Benjamin Franklin’s musical invention, the glass armonica, and the amazing 20th century electronic instrument, the theremin, which is the only instrument that is played without being touched. To round out the afternoon, Anderson & Roe will perform their exhilarating “Fantasy on Themes from Star Wars,” a romp through John Williams’ classic movie scores.
