Legend’s Steakhouse is committed to great food
Three restaurateurs have hit upon the three elements that make Legend’s Steakhouse a favorite hotspot for local diners. Bob Corcoran, his father, Bob Sr. and Dominick Soriano know that their solid partnership, committed staff, and excellent food are the perfect recipe for success. “The local crowd is incredible as far as patronage,” Corcoran said, adding that many people who dine at Legend’s are from nearby neighborhoods. “And everyone is on the same page. We are keeping prices fair and the patrons are getting a lot.” Corcoran said he knew he would enjoy being part of the restaurant business while working his way through college as a waiter, bartender, and later as a restaurant manager. “It’s a daily challenge, but it’s also very rewarding,” this Ramsey resident added. Long-time patrons enjoy visiting the bar area, which includes booth seating and big-screen televisions to view all the local sports teams. The new beer menu includes more beers being sold by the bottle. Up to 40 varieties are available, along with quality wines and top shelf liquor. The bar also features live music two or three nights a week. Legend’s brings in local bands with good followings that perform every style of music from jazz to blues and classic rock. Recently, Legend’s added a Sunday brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and patrons have responded positively. Diners enjoy a leisurely visit with friends and family as they sample Legend’s delicious fare, which includes a golden Belgian waffle, egg scrambles, and other traditional brunch fare in generous portions. During the week, diners enjoy appetizers that range from French onion soup to calamari or spinach dip. The restaurant’s salad options include everything from a traditional Caesar salad to one crafted from baby spinach. Sandwiches are served with steak fries or zucchini sticks, and options include smoked turkey and brie, a French dip, and the well-loved burger. Although Legend’s is billed as a steakhouse, and

the steaks are “selling like hotcakes,” there are so many options available, including many innovative specials created by Executive Chef Javier Campos. On a recent evening, diners enjoyed a black linguine studded with shrimp and crab meat, duck breast with apple cider reduction and fresh cranberries, homemade lobster ravioli with vodka sauce and porcini mushrooms, and rack of lamb with burgundy demi glace. The menu includes many excellent choices, such as chicken portabello in sherry wine sauce, mussels (served fra diavolo, marinara, or bianco) a delectable crab cake, Atlantic salmon, and penne with vodka sauce. Legend’s secret ingredient is buying everything from local purveyors, so the food is fresh when it enters the restaurant’s kitchen – and by the time it hits diners’ plates. The outdoor deck is open from April 1 through Oct. 1, and is a perfect place to enjoy a long lunch or dinner while
enjoying the outdoors. Legend’s comfortable atmosphere makes the restaurant a great place to host a party. Up to 80 people can be accommodated. The owners invite the community to celebrate Mother’s Day with brunch or dinner at Legend’s. Reserve now. Business lunch specials and sunset specials are available, and children 10 years and under eat free when accompanied by an adult diner Monday through Wednesday. Be sure to ask your server. Legends Steakhouse, located at 118 Godwin Avenue, corner of Vreeland Avenue, Midland Park, is open seven days, from noon until midnight. The kitchen is open until 10 p.m. (‘til 9 p.m. on Sunday), and a late night menu is available until midnight every day.
