Albert “Burt” E. Edwards of Arnold, Maryland, formerly of Ridgewood, died April 15. He was 56. He had been employed as an executive director of AT&T Government Solutions in Columbia, Maryland. He is survived by his wife Teresa Metzler-Edwards, his daughter Morgan Elizabeth, his mother Dorothy Edwards, and his siblings Esther Nelson, Correne Anne Marie Daniel, and Leasa Sampson. He was predeceased by his father Michael Edwards, and his sister Frances Edwards. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Memorial donations may be made to Presentation Brothers College, c/o Esther Nelson, 232 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. Thomas S. Iozia of Clifton, formerly of Glen Rock, died April 18. He was 61. He had been employed as a salesman for KH Enterprises (a/k/a Paul Mitchell) in Northern New Jersey, where he had been the recipient of several Salesman of the Year awards. Previously, he worked for Sharplan Lasers in Allendale. He attended the Holy Face Monastery in Clifton and was a parishioner at Saint Catharine’s RC Church in Glen Rock. He is survived by his father John Peter Iozia of Glen Rock, his siblings Jackie Merson of Wyckoff, Phyllis Bohaczuk of Wyckoff, and Peter Iozia of Mount Juliet, Tennessee. He was predeceased by his mother Phyllis Pedi Iozia. Arrangements were made by Browning Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Face Monastery, 1697 State Route 3, Clifton, NJ. Phyllis M. Janisheski, nee Moskal, of Mahwah, formerly of Passaic, died April 14. She was 72. She was the owner of Janek’s Meat Market in Passaic. She is survived by her children James Janisheski of Carlstadt, Daniel Janisheski of Knowlton, Judy Janisheski of Mahwah, and David Janisheski of Mahwah, two grandchildren, and her siblings Edward Puzio, Denise Surowitz, both of Garfield, and Walter Moskal of Mahwah. Elizabeth D. Miller of Auburndale, Florida, formerly of Ramsey, died April 19. She was 76. She had been a member of Saint Paul’s RC Church in Ramsey, and the Senior Citizens in Ramsey. She is survived by her husband Leslie J. Miller and her children Gregory Miller of Earlysville, Virginia, Stephen Miller of Mahwah, Ellen Miller-Armstrong of Warwick, New York, Maureen Fisher of Ramsey, and
Kathleen Fougner of Lakeland, Florida, and nine grandchildren. Monica Kelly Noonburg of Saddle River, formerly of West Virginia, Georgia, and Prospect Park, died March 31. She was 98. She had been a professional seamstress in Paterson. She is survived by her children Louise Simon of Saddle River, and Joseph Noonburg of Quechee, Vermont, eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Edwin “Ted” Greer Noonburg. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Touma H. Saliba of Midland Park died April 21. He was 87. He is survived by his wife Annahede Saliba, his children George, Gabriel, Elias, Iskandar, Naima, Fay, Gladys, and Rindalla, 27 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and his siblings Saliba, Issa and Karim Saliba, and Khatown Panno. He was predeceased by his first wife Janna, and his sibling Vergine Abdal. Arrangements were made by William G. Basralian Funeral Home in Oradell. Dr. John B. Smid of Franklin Lakes died April 19. He was 79. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a dentist. He served as a church deacon and elder and was, most recently a member of the West Side Presbyterian Church of Ridgewood. He was a member of the Christian Medical Society, the Luke Society, and the American Bible Society. He was a dental consultant with the Christian Health Care Center for 25 years, for the Holland Christian Home for 15 years, and with Campus Crusade for Christ in Russia. He also was a counselor for the Billy Graham Crusade. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, his children John B. Jr. of Haledon and Karen J. Lyman of Midland Park, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, and his siblings Kathleen Gorter of Waldwick and Robert Smid of Wyckoff. Stegle of Vernon, formerly of Waldwick, died April 20. She was 51. She is survived by her daughter Jamie Stegle, and her siblings William, Janice, Jeanne Burke and JoAnne Teichberg. Tobin of Ho-Ho-Kus died April 7. She was 85. She had worked in the office of Congressman Andrew Maguire and for a local accounting firm. She had been a volunteer with the PTA at the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School, Bergen Pines, and Valley Hospital. She was a member of the Contemporary Club, and a 50 year member of P.E.O. She is survived by her children John E. Tobin of Concord, New Hampshire, Brian D. Tobin of Allendale, and Paul C.

She is survived by her children David of Breckenridge, Colorado, Michael of Telluride, Colorado, and James of Hesperia, California, six grandchildren, and her sister Mildred Olier of Maywood. She was predeceased by her husband Rudy Turrin. Arrangements were made by Marrocco Memorial Chapel in Clifton. Annetta Van Dalen, nee Van Beveren, of Wantage, formerly of Wyckoff, died April 17. She was 90. She was a member of the Netherland Reformed Church in Clifton. She is survived by her children Kenneth Van Dalen of Durham, North Carolina, and Janice Douglas of Wantage, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and her siblings Ann Breure of Clifton, and Abraham Van Beveren of Garfield. She was predeceased by her husband John G., her son John Jr., and her grandson Jerald Douglas. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Rita Van Laere of Glen Rock died April 17. She was 93. She had been a financial aid counselor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck. She was a parishioner of Saint Catharine’s R.C. Church in Glen Rock. She is survived by her children Jacqueline Van Laere of Atlanta, Georgia, Rita Wiley of Riverdale, and Paul Van Laere of Glen Rock, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, and her brother Rev. Daniel Smith of West Palm Beach, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice T. Van Laere and her siblings Mary Ripple, Catharine Tully, Eileen Frigo, Edward, John and James Smith.
