This session offers new hands-on lessons in puff mobiles, catapults, and building bridges and airplanes. The cost of $75 includes five classes and all materials. An Acrylic Painting class for children in grades two through five will meet on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. beginning May 4. Participants will receive individual attention and will be provided with goals and objectives to help them find their own approach to painting. The class cost is $54 for six classes; materials are additional and a list will be provided at registration. Drawing will be offered to children in grades two through five on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. beginning May 5. Students will work at their own level using pencils and pastels. The cost is $54 for six classes; materials are additional and a list will be provided at registration. New this session is Abrakadoodle’s Sculpture Studio for students in grades one through five. The class will meet on Mondays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. beginning May 10. Children will experiment with a variety of sculpting methods, learn the basics of clay, and create a variety of art. Each
week, students will learn about a different culture as they make beads, tiles, masks, and more. The $100 fee covers five classes and all materials. Nature in the Village is for students in kindergarten through grade two. Classes, which begin May 6, will be held on Thursdays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. New topics will be provided weekly. Discussions, hands-on projects, and outdoor treks (weather permitting) will be featured. The cost is $90 for six classes. All materials will be provided. Aviation Club will be held on Fridays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Children in kindergarten through grade five are welcome to join this class, which will begin May 7. Participants will gain knowledge of the world of aviation, and will learn how to read and evaluate construction plans and use various hobby tools as they create and operate a variety of air models. Summer Day Camp registration open Ridgewood Summer Day Camp will open for the 2010 summer season on Tuesday, June 29 and will continue through Friday, Aug. 6. Children in grades one through six will enjoy arts and crafts, organized games, swimming, special events, and optional trips. The camp will be held at The Stable, Graydon Pool, Maple Park, Veteran’s Field,
Leuning Park, and the Ridgewood Community Center from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Children are to bring a bag lunch and beverage. Bus transportation is available to all. The day camp registration fee is $450 per child and includes two camp T-shirts. Optional trip prices vary. Space is limited and registration will be accepted on a firstcome, first-served basis. Ridgewood Singers present Spring Concert The Ridgewood Singers, now in its 52nd season, will perform its Spring Concert, “An American Panorama,” May 2 at 3 p.m. at The Ridgewood United Methodist Church, 100 Dayton Street in Ridgewood. George W. Swope will conduct the chorus in American spirituals, folksongs, patriotic favorites, and pieces by Berlin, Gershwin, and Copland.
