In keeping with its commitment to giving back to the community, TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, recently marked the opening of its newest Bergen County store, located at North Maple Avenue and Pine Street in Ridgewood, with a donation through its charitable giving arm, the TD Charitable Foundation. The new store also preserves a bit of local history in the large, colorful wall mural on display. At the grand opening celebration of TD Bank’s new Ridgewood store, the TD Charitable Foundation provided a $5,000 grant to the YWCA of Bergen County to support its after-school program. The YWCA of Bergen County is the area’s largest provider of child care services and a recognized leader in health and fitness programs. It also operates the country’s only Rape Crisis Center. The grand opening celebration also featured the unveiling of the wall mural that will be on permanent display in the store. The mural depicts the Victory Bazaar at the French Village on July 4, 1918. The large, colorful mural was created by enhancing and colorizing an old black-and-white photo that was provided to TD Bank by the Ridgewood Public Library Local History Collection.
