He Will Ruckel and Rosie then allows dogs to unwind and relax before working on them. “We are an affordable luxury for your best friend,” Ruckel says. “I treat your dog as my own, and that is very good indeed,” he adds. Le Chien: affordable luxury for your best friend
hen Brooklynite Antonino Mazzola spotted the Midland Park Shopping Center 40 years ago, he knew it would be the perfect location for a new pizzeria. In 1970, he and his wife Anna opened Brothers Pizza, a hometown establishment that served meatball heroes, chicken parmesan, antipasto, lasagna, and – of course – pizza. Then, as now, patrons are welcome to dine in or pick up their orders. From the very start, Brothers was a family affair, and so it remains, although daughter Piera left five years ago to raise a family. Today, Tony’s son Anthony, daughter Vera, her husband Roberto, and grandchildren Alessandro and Antonio all serve Italian specialties to the community. For 40 years, the family has been using high quality mozzarella, and the same sauce recipe – a secret that entered the United States via the Mazzola family’s hometown of Palermo. Patrons who enjoyed Brothers food when they were young now bring their own children to sample the restaurant’s dishes. Even Brothers’ original oven is still in use, although three others have been added. While being careful to retain patrons’ best-loved recipes, the restaurant has added wraps and salads to its menu to keep up with changing tastes. Brothers serves 20 types of pasta dishes, 15 types of heroes, a variety of soups and panini, appetizers, Italian specialties, and desserts such as zeppoli and homemade cannoli. Delivery is available for an additional $2. Brothers offers catering for events of all sizes. Tell Brothers about your taste and budget and let their experts take care of the details. Corporate accounts are welcome. Brothers is located at 97 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park. Phone (201) 444-4944 or visit brotherspizzeria.com for information and coupons.
