The volunteer fire department brought its trucks to the ceremony and the American flag was hung over the field for the day via the hook and ladder truck in memory of all those lost on 9/11. Residents also had the opportunity to climb the ladder one at the time escorted by a fireman. Community Day also included a live entertainment and a healthy dose of good food, activities, and fellowship for Midland Park’s residents. Patrick ‘Bud’ O’Hagan Bud O’Hagan has led an active volunteer life during his 40 years in Midland Park and has devoted more than three decades to the United Republican Club, including several terms as president. He is a long time member and treasurer of Midland Park Lions Club and is the co-chair, with his wife Janet, of the town Christmas display at the Ridgewood Water Works property on Godwin Avenue. He is a past president of the Midland Park Chamber of Commerce and serves as an usher at the Church of the Nativity. The current council president, O’Hagan has been a member of the Midland Park Borough Council for 21 years and currently heads the council’s Police and Municipal Alliance committees. He serves on the Executive Board of the Bergen Joint Insurance Fund, a cooperative venture with 38 municipalities which manages the town’s insurance policies.
