The master plan, which is used to guide the future development of the community in a manner consistent with state law and sound planning criteria, was last reexamined in 2008. State law requires the reexamination every six years to assure that all local zoning regulations are substantially consistent with the plan. It is used by the planning and zoning boards and the borough council in making land use planning and policy decisions that enhance and protect the character of the community.
