Ramapo High School Classes of 1985, 2000 host reunions The Ramapo High School Class of 1985 will host its 25-year reunion on Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes. Auditions for Dafur benefit concert open Local musicians, including teens, adults, professionals, and amateurs, are invited to audition for the Second Annual Concert for Darfur on Dec. 5 and 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Barnert Temple, 747 Route 208 South, Franklin Lakes. Musicians should bring the lyrics of the song they wish to perform and their instrument. The acoustic coffee-house style event will take place Jan. 29 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the temple. Recreation offers men’s softball league

Magician Steve Woyce presents Thanksgiving program Magician Steve Woyce, along with Tom the Turkey and Henry the Magic Rabbit will offer a Thanksgiving program packed with magic and comedy at the Franklin Lakes Public Library on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 4:15 p.m. This Family Special, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is open to Franklin Lakes residents and current members of the Friends organization. Children’s bead craft offered Local children are invited to create a bead project for holiday giving with artist Jacque Benevento at the Franklin Lakes Public Library. Bead-Dazzled will be offered in two sessions, the first on Thursday, Dec. 2 from 3 to 4:15 p.m. for children in kindergarten through grade three, a workshop for
children in two sessions; and the second on Wednesday, Dec. 8 from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. for children in grades four through six. Registration is now open for Franklin Lakes residents. Learn to navigate the Internet The Franklin Lakes Library will offer “Fun Computer Sites on the Internet” on Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. to noon. Learn handson about sites that provide free alternatives to pay software, sites to protect and maintain computers, sites to promote life-long learning, and even a few sites to simply put a smile on your face. Participants must be able to navigate online and must have intermediate computer skills to make full use of this class. Registration for Franklin Lakes residents is underway. Seniors plan events The Franklin Lakes Seniors will travel to the Westchester Broadway Theater in Elmsford, New York to see “A Sleepy Hollow Christmas Carol,”on Dec. 9 This new musical based upon the characters by Charles Dickens and Washington Irving was adapted by Jean-Paul Richards. OEM offers newsletter to residents The Franklin Lakes Office of Emergency Management is offering a newsletter that includes information about the borough’s emergency management plan and Community Emergency Response Team training. Registration for the Franklin Lakes Recreation Men’s Softball League will be held Feb. 1 through March 15. The cost of registration is $800 per team. Games will be played on weeknights beginning in April. The season concludes in mid-July. ASA rules apply and ASA bats must be used.
