Before retiring, he was a psychologist with the Smithtown School District in Smithtown, New York. Previously, he had been a priest of the Salesian Order, serving as an educator and as principal at Don Bosco Preparatory School in Ramsey. He was a member of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. He is survived by his wife Alice (nee Cavanaugh) of Midland Park, his sons Thomas J. of Waldwick, and Terence M. of Chappaqua, New York, five grandchildren, and his brothers William of Carson City, Nevada, and John of Toms River. Kent Paquin Eldridge of Highland Mills, New York died May 10. He was 75. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Before retiring, he was employed at Ramapo College in Mahwah. Previous to that, he worked in the oil fields of Montana and Oklahoma. He was a member of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers. He is survived by his siblings Shari Beck of Aitkin, Minnesota, Van Eldridge of Cadillac, Michigan, and Scott Eldridge of Billings, Montana, six nieces, a nephew, and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. John Gallone Jr. of Monroe, New York, formerly of Wyckoff, died May 6. He was 82. He was a water treatment plant operator for the Ridgewood Water Company. Prior to that, he was employed by Distro Dye House in Paterson. He is survived his children Neil Gallone of Greenwood Lake, and Marie Oppewall of Milton, New York, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife May (nee Howard) Gallone. Arrangements were made by Browning-Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Wallace H. Goodrich of Waldwick, formerly of Midland Park, died May 13. He was 59. Before retiring, he was the deli manager at Grand Union in Ridgewood for 30 years. He was a member of Wyckoff Assembly of God in Wyckoff where he was involved in the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. He is survived by his wife Lois (nee Van Dyke) of Waldwick, his children Jason of Midland Park, Matthew of Waldwick and Deborah of Waldwick, one grandson, and his brothers Earl of Atlanta, Georgia, and Charles of Jackson, Mississippi. Before retiring, he had been an accountant for Bendix Corp of Teteboro for 42 years. He was a member of the Waldwick United Methodist Church and its Men’s Club. He was president and a member of the Bendix Management Club. He is survived by his wife Jane (nee Sohn) Ireland, his children, Donald J. Ireland of Waldwick and Nancy Strathy of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard H. Ireland and Bruce D. Ireland. Manuel “Tommy” Joaquin of Milford, Pennsylvania, formerly of Waldwick, died May 10. He was 76. He was the superintendent of the Waldwick Water Department for over 43 years. He was a member of the Waldwick Ambulance Corps. He is survived by his children Linda DeBoer, Bucky, and Todd, eight grandchildren, and his sister Angela Scalors. He was predeceased by his wife Mary E. Joaquin, and his son Thomas Joaquin. Arrangements were made by Becker Funeral Home in Westwood. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Before retiring after 40 years of service, he was employed by the New York City Police Department as where he was a detective lieutenant with multiple commendations of exceptional merit. He had been involved with the Saint Luke’s Track Team and Athletic Association in Ho-Ho-Kus for many years. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, American Legion Post 156, Emerald Society of the NYC Police Department, and the NRA. He is survived by his wife Patricia (nee Byrne), his children Robert, Michael, James and Patrick Leonard and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Sylvester and Carmen Leonard. She was a 1935 graduate of Ramsey High School. She is survived by her children Thomas C. Lynch of Saugerties, New York, Tara Lynch Wooton of Prosperity, West Virginia, and Clinton D.
