Rose S. Blaustein, nee Temkin, of Ridgewood, formerly of Franklin Lakes and Mill River, Massachusetts, has died. She is survived by her children Carole Barr and Richard Blaustein, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and her sisters Ida Gallin and Bernice Friedstein. She was predeceased by her husband Elliot Harold Blaustein. Arrangements were made by Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel in Paramus. Memorial donations may be sent to a charity of choice. May Capio, nee Veenstra, of Midland Park died March 18. She was 90. She had worked as a registered nurse at the Paterson General Hospital. She is survived by her children, Ada Lou Capio of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Roy Capio of Bloomingdale, Indiana, and Mario Capio, M.D. of Midland Park, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Mario D. Capio, M.D. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. He was a U.S. Merchant Marine and Combat Engineers 1092 veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed mason in the Bergen County area. He was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Midland Park. He is survived by his son George D. of Wyckoff, three grandchildren, and his brother William Fenners of Oakland. She is survived by her husband Edward Gernhardt, her children Kim Knapp-Browne of Athens, Ohio, Todd Knapp of Seattle, Washington, Keith Knapp of Englewood, Kristen Peterson of Midland Park, Nancy LaMont and Betty Jean Gernhardt of California, and Eileen Dubrawa of North Carolina, 10 grandchildren, one great grandson, and her siblings Richard Muccino of Summit, and Marge Lynn of Warren, Pennsylvania. Lewis of Midland Park died March 18. He was 87. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He had been a banker with Fiduciary Trust Company. Lewis of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, Mary Lewis Laurent of Allendale, Patricia Lewis Shadek of Alpine, Dr. Peter M. Lewis of Dayton, Ohio, Jennifer Lewis Poremba of Wyckoff, 13 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Paul Edward Lewis. She had worked as an assistant in the guidance department at Indian Hills High School for over 20 years. She was a member of the Franklin Lakes Woman’s Club, the Pompton Lakes Elks Club, and the Franklin Lakes Senior Citizen’s Organization. She was a volunteer at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, and a member of the Oakland Bowling League. She is survived by her children John Mattera, Jerry Mattera, and Teresa Wilson, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and her sister Mae Gardine. She was predeceased by her husband Salvatore Mattera. Arrangements were made by Oakland Memorial Home in Oakland. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Stephen Thodore Anthony Renda of Midland Park died March 17. He was 71. Before retiring, he had worked for the New Jersey Department of Labor. She had been a cashier at the A&P of Midland Park for many years. She is survived by her children James J. Van Ry of Butler, Douglas Van Ry of Jacksonville, Florida, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her sister Doris Winkler of Oakland. She was predeceased by her husband Cornelius Van Ry. She was a professor at Edward Williams College in the early 1980s. She had worked as an administrative assistant at Fordham University in the early 1960s. She was a civil service employee in 1949-1952 in G-2 and CID assigned to the US Army in Okinawa, Japan. She later worked as an administrative assistant for the US Army G-3 during 1952-1953 at Fort Polk, Louisiana. She was the past president of the North Jersey Doll Club. She is survived by her husband Trenton E. Wright Sr., her children Trenton Wright Jr. of Connecticut, and Christine of Ramsey, two grandchildren and her sisters Catherine Giordano and Marilyn Cenatiempo. Mayor Rudy Boonstra – a long-term Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department member – was at the dinner with Township Committeemen Kevin Rooney, David Connolly, Christopher DePhillips, and Brian Scanlan. Those township committee members who are not volunteer firefighters helped with other aspects of supervision and damage control after the storm knocked out power all over the township. Nick Ciampo received the Dana Hannon Award for his extensive service to the department. Hannon was a Wyckoff resident and second-generation volunteer fireman who was killed while responding to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Service awards went to J. Ruit for 65 years of service; B. Osgood for 40 years; E. Pettit for 30 years; E. Vitilo and S. Stephen for 20 years; M. Rose, D. LoRusso, and J. Tanucilli for 10 years; and K. Kilby and A. Forsyth for five years of service. J.
