The annual congregational Passover Seder will be held on March 30 at 6 p.m. The Seder will be led by Rabbi Ken Emert and Cantor Ilan Mamber. The meal will be catered by Foster Village Kosher Deli. Methodist church celebrates Holy Week Midland Park United Methodist Church will celebrate Holy Week with services on Maundy Thursday, April 1 with a 7:30 p.m. service where the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples is commemorated at the traditional Table of Twelve Communion Liturgy. A Tenebrae service of light and darkness will be held at 7:30 p.m. There will also be an Ecumenical Good Friday service by all churches in Midland Park at Christian Reformed Church from noon to 3 p.m. On Easter Sunday, April 4, the Easter worship service will be held at 10 a.m. Midland Park United Methodist Church is located at 269 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park. Presbyterian Church sets services The Presbyterian Church at Franklin Lakes invites friends and neighbors to enjoy a special supper and Communion service on Maundy Thursday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. where the story of Jesus offering himself at the last supper and on the cross will be retold. West Side announces services West Side Presbyterian Church’s annual Agape Feast will take place on Maundy Thursday, April 1, at 6 p.m. in the dining room. This family-oriented program will include a light meal, a child-friendly look at the Passover and the Last Supper, a craft, hymns, and children’s Holy Week songs accompanied by guitar. A Maundy Thursday worship service with Holy Communion will follow at 8 p.m. The Senior High Choir will provide music. On Good Friday, April 2, a special worship service with the Solemn Reproaches of the Cross will be held at 1 p.m. At 8 p.m., West Side’s well-known Tenebrae Service will take place in the sanctuary. This moving service follows the story of Jesus the Garden of Gethsemane to the tomb through a dramatic combination of scripture and song. Music will be provided by the Chancel and Youth choirs and by various instrumentalists. Two Easter Sunday services, highlighted by two choirs, a brass ensemble, and bell choir, will be the culmination of Holy Week services at West Side on April 4. Senior Pastor The Rev. Dr. Gareth Icenogle will lead the services at 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated. Music will be provided by the Chancel and Senior High choirs, the Westminster Bell Choir, and a brass ensemble. All of the church’s worship services and programs are open to the public. United Methodist Church celebrates season The Franklin Lakes United Methodist Church at 454 Pulis Avenue, Franklin Lakes, will have a 7:30 p.m. Service of the Last Supper, which will include special music on Holy Thursday, April 1. A Tenebrae Service is planned for Good Friday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. On Easter Sunday, April 4, a traditional service will be offered at 10 a.m. Pastor Juel will give the message “Is Jesus Still Enough?” and the Chancel Choir and special music will be presented. There will be a reenactment of the Lord’s Table on Maundy Thursday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. This special Communion Service will include scripture readings and musical offerings by the children’s, youth, and senior choirs. The church sanctuary will be open throughout the day on Good Friday, April 2, for quiet prayer and meditation. The Easter Sunday (April 4) service at 10:30 a.m. will include uplifting hymns and music by the children’s and senior choirs. First Presbyterian announces services Ramsey First Presbyterian Church has set special services for Holy Week and Easter. On Maundy Thursday, April 1, the service will include the Holy Eucharist and foot-washing enactment. This service will take place in the chapel at 8 p.m. On Good Friday, April 2, beginning at noon, there will be a meditative labyrinth featuring Jesus’ last hours on earth. The chapel will be open for prayer. At 8 p.m., a service of scripture, a cappella voices, and reflection with focus on “Seven Last Words and Tenebrae of Lights” will be held in the chapel. On Easter Sunday, April 4, services will be held at 9 and 11 a.m. Special music will include a brass quartet, Chancel Choir, and organ.
