Before retiring in 2004, he was and president and owner of CBC Consulting of Mahwah. He was a parishioner of Saint Paul’s R.C. Church in Ramsey. He is survived by his sons Tanggol of Redding, Connecticut, Bayani of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Raoul of Ocean City, and his siblings Mercedes Caes of Mahwah, Honesto of Kissimmee, Florida, and Joel of Toronto, Canada. He was predeceased by his wife Carolyn and his brother Samuel. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. She was parishioner of Church of the Nativity where she taught CCD. She was a member of the Midland Park community, serving as book fair chairperson, HIP program liaison of the PTA and supporter of Midland Park recreational sports and activities. She was a Girl Scout leader. She is survived by her husband Joe, her daughter Georgia Sophia, her parents John and Genevieve Olko of Garfield, and her brother John Olko Jr. of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Peter DeGaetano of Mahwah died March 4. He was 63. He was an executive vice president of Verla International Ltd. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann DeGaetano (nee Myer), his son Arthur, two grandchildren, his mother Nancy, and his brother Arthur. He was predeceased by his father Arthur DeGaetano. Robert B. Evans of Glen Rock died March 9. He was 90. He was a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers veteran of WWII. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy. He had been chief engineer for Ford, Bacon and Davis, and later, a project manager for Sanderson and Porter, both in New York. He retired from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 1987. He was a member of the Glen Rock Board of Health and the Glen Rock Historical Society. He was a member of the Community Church of Glen Rock, where he taught Sunday school and was president of the Men’s Club. He is survived by his children Glenn L. Evans of West Bath, Maine, Bronwen Evans of Glen Rock, and Megan E. Augustine Celedonio Caes King of Brookline, New Hampshire, and five grandchildren. She was a volunteer at Brunswick Community Hospital in North Carolina. She is survived by her siblings Monica Winters of Leland, North Carolina and Edward Gaffney of Rutherford, and seven nieces and nephews. He was a member of Midland Park’s VFW and American Legion. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivor Association and the Midland Park Knights of Columbus # 5498. He was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. He is survived by his wife Anna (nee D’Anella) Homer, and his son Joseph Homer of Waldwick. Stephen D. Jaten of Cumming, Georgia, formerly of Allendale, died March 2. He was 48. He was employed by TAM Communications. He was a graduate of Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale and Lynchburg College in Virginia. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Marilyn Jaten of Allendale, and his siblings Edward Jaten of Franklin Lakes, and Melissa A. Jaten of North Bend, Washington. Arrangements were made by C.C. Charles “Benny” Parisi of Saint Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Ridgewood, died March 4. He was 99. He worked at the Ridgewood News for 47 years, starting when he was 16 years old. He won boxing’s Golden Gloves award in 1929. He is survived by his children Benedict Parisi of Inglis, Florida, and Loretta Sophie Affonso of Santa Cruz, California. She was a U.S. Army and Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Before retiring, she was a guidance counselor and teacher with the Board of Education of New York. She was a life member of the VFW Lodge 7086 and the American Legion Post 130, both in Midland Park. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Joyce Rohl, Sharon Moore, Diane Digges, Robert and John Rohl and many grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings John L. She was past president of the North Hudson Kiwanis Club, and past lieutenant governor of the New Jersey Kiwanis. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s of the Palisades Sports Hall of Fame. Helen R. Sheliga of Mahwah died March 4. She was 97. Before retiring, she was employed by Avon Products in Suffern, New York. She was a parishioner at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mahwah. She is survived by her children Louis Molinelli of Mahwah, and Rose Burt of Clearwater Florida, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
