Republicans plan meeting The Wyckoff Republican League will meet on March 24 at 7 p.m. at the Larkin House, 380 Godwin Avenue. Anyone interested is invited to attend. Organic gardening to be discussed Wyckoff Environmental Commission Chair Brian Bigler and the Environmental Committee have scheduled a program on organic gardening for March 15 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the second floor meeting conference room at Wyckoff Town Hall, 340 Franklin Avenue. Mark Borst, president and founder of Borst Landscape and Design of Allen-
dale, will offer tips about organic lawn and garden care. The presentation will cover the central concepts of organics, and how soil health affects plant life. Borst, a graduate of Rutgers with a degree in landscape architecture, has 20 years of experience as a landscape professional. Inserra to address Wyckoff Chamber Mr. Inserra from Shop Rite will address the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, March 18. Lenten Pancake Breakfast set A Lenten Pancake Breakfast will be held in the cafeteria at Saint Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, on Sunday, March 14 after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. In keeping with the parish’s outreach program, each child is asked to bring a bag of candy to fill Easter baskets for families in need. The church will collect smoked or canned hams and Easter candy and baskets for needy area families on March 14 and 21. Advance reservations are requested for the March 14 breakfast, which is open to all families. Tickets are $6 per person, with a $24 maximum per family. Children under age three will be admitted free of charge. Tickets purchased at the door will be $7.50. Parents may make reservations at the parish center. Foundation plans March Madness “March Madness,” the Wyckoff Education Foundation’s annual fundraiser, is scheduled for Saturday, March 20 at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 467 Grandview Avenue, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person. The evening will include auctions, interactive games, music, and food, all while attendees root for their favorite college teams during the broadcast of the NCAA tournament on large screen televisions. The Wyckoff Education Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of educational programs in Wyckoff’s public schools. Since its inception in 1990, the foundation has raised over $1,000,000, all of which has been awarded to the students and faculty in

Dad’s Night Show announced The annual Lincoln School Dad’s Night Show will be held on Friday, March 26 at 7 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary School, 325 Mason Avenue. Skits have been submitted by Lincoln students for the dads to perform. The evening will be a great night out for all ages. Speakers to address Garden Club Chris Rubino of Monrovia Growers will address the Wyckoff Area Garden Club on Wednesday, March 10 at 10 a.m. at James A. McFaul Environmental Center, Crescent Avenue in Wyckoff. Rubino will discuss Monrovia’s 2010 plant introductions. Cathy Miller, renowned local dried flower designer, lecturer, and author, will also be on hand to present her latest book, “Music, Flowers, Laughter, and Me.” Meetings are open to all interested gardeners, free of charge, and refreshments are served. Gutierrez, who has received both a BS in finance/international business and an MBA in accounting/finance from the NYU Stern School of Business, has been a resident of Franklin Lakes for 10 years. She has two daughters who attend Woodside Avenue School. She is currently a director of strategy for TD Ameritrade. Including her time with that company, she has been in the financial services industry for over 20 years, working at several major New York City firms. The school board election will be held April 20 between 2 and 9 p.m. On that date, the borough’s registered voters will also have the opportunity to vote on the local school district’s budget for the 201011 school year. Information on the school district’s budget is expected to be released on March 19.
