Estimated bills (continued from page 3) extend an estimated tax rate for the third quarter bill which is due on Aug. 1. A grace period for payments is through Aug. 10. Payments received after the close of business on this date will pay interest from Aug. 1. Taxpayers already pay estimates for the February and May quarters. “While Midland Park has benefited from years of prudent fiscal management, the municipality faces the same fiscal concerns and pressures as our residents and business owners,” said Dugan. “Collecting estimated taxes is consistent with best practices that insure we can meet our obligations for salaries, monies due to other governmental agencies such as the board of education and County of Bergen, and other contracted services from collected revenues.” The administrator added that the governing body does not want to further burden the taxpayers by borrowing money through tax anticipation notes, to meet expenses. Dugan said those who have their taxes paid by a lending institution will receive an advice copy of the estimated bill, and the lender will be noticed of the amount due on Aug. 1. There will be an additional tax bill mailing in September once the official tax rate has been certified by the Bergen County Board of Taxation. It will have the remaining stubs for payments through May, 2011, she said. BRADLEY PAINTING, INC.
