(continued from page 3) the borough’s representative to the Joint Insurance Fund and sits on its executive board. Peet, a lifelong borough resident, is a Registered Nurse and is currently director of claims management for William H. Connolly & Associates in Montclair. She has served on the council since 2003, and is a past president of the Midland Park Board of Education, on which she served for 18 years. She was also chairwoman of the Midland Park Board of Adjustment for seven years. She is a member of the Midland Park Planning Board and the Board of Health. The election turnout was unusually low, with only 12 percent of the 1940 total registered Republicans and 7 percent of the 913 registered Democrats casting ballots. O’Hagan received 213 votes, and Peet garnered 214.
Popular event
Midland Park’s first Clothing Exchange was a success. Volunteers of all ages turned out to help during the event, and many members of the community brought clothing and shoes to the event held at the Midland Park Firehouse on Witte Drive. The exchange was organized by resident Allison Fennell to ease the economic burden on local families.
